TDNam expired premium names question.

Hello.

Lets say I found an expired domain in TDNam, selling for $130 bidding price. What happens if nobody bids this domain? Will it goto the firesale for $5?

The reason that domain auction started at $130 instead of $10 is because it has done well with the GoDaddy parked page.

I doubt it'll go into the fire sale. If a domain has made you $100 in parking revenue, why sell it for $5?

I've gone as far as exporting fire sale lists and trying to register them months later; they even hang onto those domains.

If I understand you correctly, you're saying that Godaddy will hold-on to those domains even after they expire? And register and keep it for themselves?

I think so. I have tried to register tons of fire sale domains months and months after the auction and they usually still have GoDaddy parking pages (and these are their least profitable parked domains).

Maybe its some super long deletion process? I don't know. But I do know they don't drop immediately after the auction.

And maybe that domain will eventually hit fire sale... Make yourself a reminder to look it up in a few months and check if it's still parked. I'm guessing it will be if you don't buy it.

Here's my experience. But its for a $10 expired domain name.
Nobody bid on the domain, and it went to the firesale.
After the fire sale ends, it was another 1 1/2 months before it was deleted. Then domain tasters grabbed it, taking turns like musical chair, for about another 2 weeks. Today, I registered that domain name. All in all, it's about 2 months after the firesale ended.

Wow. I was getting ready to ask this same question. I was tracking an expired domain with a starting bid of $60. No bids were made, and it appeared to have not made it to the $5 Firesale. Out of curiosity, anyone with GoDaddy experience know what happens to these domains?
