Hi, I'm a big fan of League of Legends, which is the most played online game if you didn't know already.
Every 3 months in average a new champion goes out.
Today, a new champion has been revealed, Tahm Kench, in a few weeks it will be released to the public. Note that all the champions of the game are already registered on .com so this one obviously would too.
The last champion that got released, Ekko, had 1.2 million exact searches when he got out (may), just to let you realise how massive the public is and to appraise my domain better, TahmKench.com.
So yeah, I'm interested to hear from you how much do you think it's worth, even tho you're not so familiar with this niche.

Have any of the other champion names been sold?

Wouldn't these traffic volumes be extremely volatile if there's a new champion every month?
...or I misunderstood something?

There is a new champion every 3 months in average, and they still get traffic even 3 year after they're released, since people are always continuing to play them, sometimes more and sometimes less.
A champion that got released at the beginning of the game 5 years ago can have more traffic than a champion that got released 6 months ago, it depends on how good the champion is on the actual patch.
People are always gonna be interested for guides etc for every champion on the game (there are 125 champions actually). Even the less played champions of the game get tens of thousands of searches per month, I was just stating the amount of exact searches of the previous champ to make you realise that the public of the game is huge. The first month the champion get released, and the one afterward aswell, are the months with the most traffic obviously, as I said the last champion that got released, Ekko, had 1.3 million exact searches on the first month he got released.
I didn't totally understand you meaned in your question, but I hope I answered it and you understand a bit better now, would like to know how much you appraise it for tho ^^

What purpose would the domain be used for? Can you even capitalize on it before it becomes irrelevant?

This seems like a current-event type domain to me, which usually don't hold value more than their first year. Domaining should be looked at as a long-term game.

This domain could be used to show videos of famous people playing him, there could be guides on how to play the champion, the item builds of pros that played him recently could be shown, there could also be a part about his "lore", every champion has a story behind him and the whole story is called "lore".
And as I replyed to UXela, people will ALWAYS be interested in this, I was just saying that the period with the most traffic is on the 2 first months it get released. Even one year after they get released, depending on how good they are and how much popularity they have, they have between 40 to 150k exact searches per month.

Interesting ideas. After a couple Bing searches of the name, I see how it could be attractive to L-o-L players. You still have issue of it's popularity peaking this year and trailing off over time and possible trademark issues with the game developers. This is going to turn-off a lot of domain buyers, so don't expect big offers coming from this forum or other domainer marketplaces.

My best advice then is to get a website on that domain ASAP. Even a blogger or wordpress blog would be more than adequate. Do a little promotion of your website, and hopefully the search rankings and traffic will follow over the coming weeks. That way the traffic potential of the name doesn't go to waste while you're looking for a buyer of the domain.

You'll also have better chance selling this as a website than a domain because it would be more attractive to non-techie gamers who would be interested in taking over and maintaining a fan site. Worst case is you'll own a website that makes you a little side money from Adsense or affiliate ads.

That's exactly what I wanted to say on my previous post but I forgot.
Yeah, I also think it'll be pretty hard selling it, so developping it is needed to attract potential buyers.
I don't know anything about web programming tho and don't have experience with websites, but I think I can even have fun making it and making it good, since I'm very interested at the game and good at it, if I find someone who can collaborate with me.
