It looks like the live auction on October 19th during the TRAFFIC Miami is gonna be the baptism of fire for .co domains.

Up till now most and highest sales of .co have been made by the registry during landrush auctions. The live auction at TRAFFIC is the first public auction with several .co domains on secondary market.

The first lists of domains have been published already:

English keywords:
T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Miami Initial Auction Inventory
T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Miami Initial Auction Inventory – Submissions still open | RickLatona.com

Spanish keywords:
Some of the best Spanish language names you could have.
More excellent .co names. Some of the best Spanish language names you could have. | RickLatona.com

It will be interesting to see how this first real life test will work out for .co domains, what keywords will sell better: english or spanish and what prices they will achieve.

Your ideas?

I see Flowers.mobi listed for a reserve of under $400. Wasn't this the domain that got .mobi all hyped up (when it was bought for 6 figures)..

I don't think many of them will sell. .CO is going to be a hard sell to a room of veteran domainers, many of whom think the extension is a joke. But .CO is a sponsor, so that's why it's receiving a lot of hype.

Most of the landrush auctions went to endusers who were probably protecting their brands, so I don't know if domainers would be interested in these specific names. However, you never know. Maybe a few of them will take a risk on some of the generic names.

I don't think many of the premium ones will sell because of their reserve prices. Overall, I don't think the time has arrived to sell Spanish-language .COs yet. Miami would certainly be the place to do it, and I'm sure there are a few Spanish-speaking investors, but again, it's not like this conference is open to or even marketed to non-domainers.

I've submitted a few names to the auction including a few of my better Spanish words, but that's merely out of curiosity. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Does anybody know if there's simultaneous live bidding, or if the auction will be screencast anywhere?
