Well I just tried them out after seeing their link in another post and I wanted to know what you guys think of them. They offer free domain appraisals but you have kinda asssume the popularity and marketablilty of the domain but I checked my domain checkmytraffic.com and it told me that it was worth $11,000-$17,000 :kickass:. I wonder if their appraisals are actually accurate but if they are that is really awesome but what are your opinions of them.

They have been around for a few years. I have trouble relying on valuation numbers that are software calculated. I think you can get more objective and closer to real numbers from these forums.

They're way over the top, maybe because your own answers were very optimistic, like my own were. But I'm going to use them in my ebay ad, because joe public will like the look of a nice high valuation

Neat idea often copied/modified, but hard to get right. Especially since many of the questions they ask are relative to how an individual feels about the domain.

I got a "SESSION ERROR" at the site / "link" ... ah well! :cy:

Unless it's fully developed and branded, and is heavily trafficked and/or widely used ... it is HIGHLY highly unlikely that anyone would part with anything even close to $11,000 - $17,000 for the raw (long, three worded) domain name, IMHO. Please use your best judgement when tinkering around there at these subjective "Swift Appraisals" (be reasonable, realistic with your expectations despite the output), in my view. :gl:

True. I played around w/ the Fabulous value calculator when my names were parked there. After a bit, I started seeing patterns for the appraisal amts and how length, ext, approx. search popularity, etc were factoring in, to the point where I could just about predict how a name would be valued. "Deep Blue" can beat Kasparov, but a program has yet to be devised that can accurately assess name value. The magnitude of the variables is just too great.

This is always the safest bet. Although sometimes it may not be as much as a person would like but it is closer to reality

Well it appraised checkmytraffic.com at 11,000 to 17,000 so I think that it is even more out of line.

It's a nice site, well thought out, but at the end of the day you are really just appraising your own domain. And we all know this is an extremely hard thing to do!

it is very innacurate. I think it is designed to get you to get a "professional" appraisal from them.
