Congrats

She should perhaps start tagging the haters' leader, while reporting such sales on Linkedin and X :xf.grin:

I'm wondering why some domainers claim these .xyz sales are fake?

Other than a MM and a few X whackos, I don't see a lot of this.

I firmly believe the sales are taking place, but I do agree that because Swetha is a such a massive outlier and Daniel Negari (the XZY registry owner) has such a shady past, many feel there is something more to this story, and from past experience, there usually is.

I've been involved in many different business sectors and whenever someone is posting consistently unprecedented results that absolutely annihilate both the base market and everyone else involved in it, then there is usually a second part to the story.

What is consistent is that the majority of the people want to believe, so they do, sometimes aggressively so. But that's just human nature for the unwashed masses who believe that they too can make consistent 5- and 6-figure XYZ sales.

Me, I don't believe it for a second.

I might be mistaken, but I’ve seen some really big companies recently buying and using .xyz domains for large amounts.

On the other hand, I’ve also seen people spend millions on .com domains and keep them unchanged.

I hope that's not a reply to me, as that's not even in the same galaxy as any of my statements.

In fact, your comment that "some really big companies recently buying and using .xyz domains for large amounts" only solidifies what I am saying.

lemme understand

she regged some 20k names around 2015.. and kept renewing.. and they were non prem priced regs...

good for her

but does this mean if she dropped them now then xyz would reprice em as prem???? like co does and some others...

if so doesnt it mean xyz is totally salivating for her to not renew???? cause they would make fortune by making em premium

about right?

That’s a really interesting debate, so the .xyz registry can’t reprice someone’s .xyz domains as premium unless it expires or drops?

I'm curious too. Because with suffixes like icu, the registry can arbitrarily change the price to extremely high levels, even if the domain hasn't expired.

first we would need to establish of taking about prem fee to reg or prem fee to renew

or both

which is xyz for prem names??? to reg only??

I know co only reprice as prem to reg aftrt drop. I think they charge .maybe 5us more to renew prem

also know .one doeent reprice if old regs. and renewal same for all.

but others i dontknow

could vary

frankly i dont care cause most domainers is just xyz co

if I remember correctly tho xyz charges both prem renewal and prem to reg

but not for old regs.

so swetha is under old rules I guess

which means if she dont renew almost allher 20k names turn prem. xyz co etc are greedy like that they see 4 5 6fig sales so why not charge 10k to reg they think

Totally agree, most domain investors have trouble selling even decent .COMs, yet this person claims to sell a $100K .xyz domain every month. That’s at least suspicious. I do believe some transactions might occur, but they seem fabricated to generate buzz and promote the .XYZ extension, which I personally don’t like and don't own any domain.
