I have had a few people send emails asking to buy, but I really have no idea what it is worth. Thanks for your time!

Great name, IMHO a rough estimate would be around low $xx.xxx, but I'm not sure.

Nice one word domain. Also has search volume.

For reselling its prob worth low to mid xx,xxx but to an end user perhaps high xx,xxx to low xxx,xxx. Don't sell it for $2,000... you can get much much more than that.

I Figured you had received low offers. lol.

Our appraisals are of course estimates for the 'end-user', however they are educated estimates. This domain would attract a higher value due to the terms Popularity, Market Branding and of course this domain being a 'one word english .com', of which there can only ever be one of each word.

This name could be used for a wide variety of industries and attracts a good level of direct keyword searches each month from the various Search Engines.

For example the film industry have several films with the name 'suspicion'

If your not too up on Selling Domain Names, I would consider sending the domain Name to a Live Auction through Moniker.com. You can view on the link below, Monikers previous auctions and the results that premium domains such as this have sold for.

This kind of name is nicely brandable, great for many uses from book/TV/movie titles, to investigations/police/conspiracies, to almost anything hip like clothing or jewelry lines, it's wonderfully versatile and attractive.

Sometimes these names are a lot harder sell than you'd think and it's difficult to get top dollar for them since resellers would be taking a gamble and won't pay nearly what an end user would, it's a very generic name but a clear use isn't immediately seen. I doubt that applies in your case, since this is a very cool word and I think reseller and end user alike will understand its branding value.

I'll give it a wide swing due to the uncertainty of use sometimes translating into lower prices; but you'll safely see it sell for at least 12K to a reseller, probably up to a high price of 20 - 25K tops, unless they were very certain they could get a high end user sale off it.
I think the end users will really like this one and that you could realistically get in the 40 - 60K range if you find the ideal end users. And if they LOVE it and really get to bidding, it's still within reality for that price to go up over 100K.

As for that 2K offer, anyone here at Namepros would offer you 3 or 4 times that amount in a heartbeat. Look around here awhile, look at the selling prices of domains indexed at Namebio.com, check out the asking and sold prices at sedo.com, you'll build a better idea of what your great name is worth. Good luck :)

If you have an offer, counter with a ballpark figure that people here are talking about, say $25k. You'll soon find out if they're serious or not.

Thanks all!

Very helpful.

Are there other auction sites that any would recommend? Is SEDO good? I have heard of them, but this is my first time checking out Moniker. I am pretty green regarding selling domains.

@butchos

I did and he didn't respond.

btw this was the name of a band I had several years back. The band never paid off in $ terms, but it looks like the domain may.

The two main Auction sites are SEDO.com and AFTERNIC.com.

Yes, Sedo is good however IMO most buyers are resellers. I have had a fair few bids from SEDO, but there always in the range of $300-$1000. The reason i recommended Moniker, is because the auctions they submit names to are carried out during the large Internet Conferences such as Affiliate Summit and these are live auctions. You can be assured that many Investors and End Users are present at the auctions, whilst SEDO is a matter of waiting for a bid, which may take months and when one comes usually they are relatively low in my experience.

There are some downsides to Moniker though; they charge 15% commission whilst SEDO charges 10%, and they will hold your domain on contract for a set number of days. However I believe this is fair as their auctions are designed for the best premium domains.

Anyways, good luck selling the domain. Maybe give some of these companies a call, let them know your price expectations and ask for their advice on whether or not they believe the reserve will be met at auction.

You may also look at finding a Domain Broker, as they charge a % commission you can be assured they will sell at the highest price.

If you want a quick sale ($5,000 USD), shoot me a pm !!! :hehe:

@zero

Thanks!

I will definitely take your advice.

I had shot out the 5k number to the guy and he came back asking if that was the lowest I was willing to go. I wrote back and basically told him about the info I received here and he said I'd be lucky to get 5 digits. He was nice though and pointed out, as you have, that there will be fees to have a site or auction sell it.

I hadn't put much thought into selling it until I got this email and it was the second one in as many months.

Thanks again.

Well, he's supoposed to say that otherwise he won't have much of a chance of getting a bargain.

I don't like domain brokers, and your domain is definitely worth 20K+ or more. It would be interesting to understand how they get paid so that the negotiation is not as asymmetric. Have patience, your domain is worth much more than they are offering.

I recently started a thread to pick your brains regarding how to understand how domain brokers work here:

Thanks to all. I got an appraisal and probably will be auctioning the name in May. It came out to $24,700 which was pretty much what was said in the thread. Any thoughts?
