Purchased this a while ago, intended to actually put a site on it but I just don't have the time now.

How much is the domain on its own worth? I really have no idea. I got it because I noticed it had dropped.

I've had a couple of mediocre offers for it but nothing special (most around $250)

How much should I be asking for this domain?

Thanks :)

I would try to sell it to digg :)

Nice name.

I say all the way to low $xxx to low $xxxx. But you never know how much somebody would be willing to spend. But I'm not sure how much u should be asking. Just wait for some more appraisals ;)

It looks great as a url .. for sure. but I do wonder if you are venturing into TM territory with that one .. nice catch on the drop .. one has to ask why a cctld LL.extn was dropped ?

I have no knowledge of the domain that it reminds me of and any TM status that it may or may not have ...out of respect for a fellow domainer I will not post the name that springs to mind here and if anyone else choses to comment on this thread .. then it would be respectfull to do the same ...

Nice name :) value so sorry not a clue it may or may not have issues ..

Good luck all the same

Yeah, i was thinking of TM issues as well. If their is trademark issues, the value is down cause no one wants to mess with lawyers, etc... (besides some people)

But Good Luck!

I'm not sure, there is no info at all in the whois database for this TLD. I checked the domain several months earlier and it was taken. Tried again after a few months and it was no longer registered (along with a couple of single character domains which I also grabbed).

It could be the pricing. The registration cost is ยฃ90 (almost $200US) and the yearly renewal is ยฃ45 (almost $100US).

As for TM issues, I found this: http://diggtheblog.blogspot.com/2006/08/digg-trademarks-and-confusion.html

but the trademark is on "digg" clearly. Surely the trademarkable part of the name would be before the TLD? so if someone had a trademark on "DI" or I owned digg.gg they could dispute it but not "di.gg".

No way. That's an invitation to sue for TM violation.

Must be the costs and the previous owner is spending too much $$$ on domains hacks in expensive extensions :|

Hmm, according to that, the previous owner had it registered until april 08. I registered it in december 07. Perhaps the previous owner had their dates wrong and just didn't renew it because they thought they had it til april. (There is nowhere in the registrar or whois info to see when it expires. Hopefully they send out an email though :P)

Why is everyone to make a quick buck over someone else's work?

I am not even sure Digg itself is making a lot of dollars.

Good as a two letter domain. Bad copy of someone else's idea. Reg fee.

Great hack! I would actually offer to give it to Digg for what ever I had in it.

I wonder if del.icio.us would :'( about it.

Nice grab IMO. And I dont simply get everyone shouting out TM issues all the time, hell, there arent ANY TM issues here, the domain name is DI and not DIGG, no one can have a TM on "DI".

A nice and easy to remember domain, and some could use "digg" to remember the name as di.gg.

Im not sure on the value, as I have never seen any domains on this ext sold before, and I havent baught any myself, and as previously mentioned, the regfee is pricy, I got a few .sh domains myself, and their about the same price.

The ones I got in .sh is pretty good aswell, but I dont know if I will renew them or not, as I dont think the cctld will get any hot.

Best of luck bud, and please, ignore the TM posers.

Cheers,
Andree

There *might* be TM issues if the domain is not used properly. What matters is whether the name is confusingly similar to a known brand. It is.
And BTW you can trademark DI.

If the registrant was to offer the name for sale to Digg then bad faith would be established and they could strike back and most likely win.

Here is how the owner of vw.net lost against VW
http://www.news.com/2100-1023-238287.html
The silly thing was to contact the trademark owner and play blackmail.

That being said no problem with di.gg as long as conflict is avoided with known TMs.
