I've owned the domain since 1997. I first marketed it as an East Coast Surfing eZine. I lost interest and let the site go after about a year or two. It has been used strictly for personal stuff since that time. I had a few serious offers for the name during the dot com bubble, but nothing recently. I decided to revist selling the name a few weeks ago and listed it on eBay. I contacted the folks at surfonline.us at that time and told them I was selling it. They said they were not interested. Go figure. I was asking $2,500 - $5,000 for it at the time. I eventually dropped it down to $1,000. I've had a few people contact me after the auction ended with offers for under $1,000.
As of now, the site receives little traffic. It's averaging around 600 unique visitors per month. I'm thinking the best thing may be to develop the site and look for a higher selling price later. I'm currently talking with some affiliate programs to see what I might come up with.
