damn thats a beautiful name

200k resell value at least?

Just take a look at all the other dictionary domains that sold, yours is a beauty.

The surfing industry is rich, so I am sure you could sell it to an end user for even more... even 7 figures.

IMHO

you could get ALOT for that domain name if you find the right end user.

Low $xx if you sell it to me.

Mega bucks elsewhere. Reseller to mid $xx,xxx , end user $xxx, xxx ++

Could relate to Internet or those board thingies they put on water, no doubt other applications.

excellent domain name, quicksilver, mormai, index crown, okley, etc, etc... a lot of big companies would be interested on this generic.

i dont want to overestimate the name, but if you sell it correctly could be $XXX,XXX range)

the only negative thing is that isnt surf.com...

Surf.com is owned by the large multinational company that make Surf laundry detergent, Unilever :)

If ever a generic dot.com could rival 'google' as a brandable search engine name, I'd think it might be surfer.com... for all of us surfing the internet. Someone wanting to brand it as such might just pay more than someone who wants to use it for product/info/news about the sport surfing. Brings to mind a whole groovy lifestyle, the tropical look of that kind of site would be very attractive, etc. If I had this name, it would be a search engine, hand's down. I'd give G a run for their money with it.

Anyway, wonderful and versatile name, I love it.
reseller = in the 60 - 100K range
end user = somewhere soaring over 150K as a bare minimum, probably closer to 3 - 400K... unless a few people go just crazy over it. It has that possibility. Just 2 kool.

Excellent point, Bannen. I love the search engine idea. The domain is so brandable that, if done properly, such a site could be incredibly successful. In fact, who knows? If the site got big enough, maybe Google would buy you out! :$:

Hi - I'm wondering, have you had this name for ages or did you just manage to get it somehow in the last couple of months ?

Thanks

Good for you. Must have dumped some cash.

Good luck with it. Are you looking to sell it or develop?

Thanks :) I don't want to divulge the exact price but based on the valuations here it seems I paid about the right amount.. This is definitely one I'll develop :)

Shamless Plug!

However, great domain name, and I think a nice purchase. Obviously with development your going to see some great return on investment.

Thanks for the feedback - and yes that plug was quite shameless. Living near the beach in San Diego I'm hoping to develop it with the assistance of some real pro surfers.

Anyway, didn't mean to distract from the original poster's query. I think that surfer.com is an incredible name that has to be worth $100,000-$250,000.
