Someone is offering one of my domains for sale in a Facebook Group. I think it may be the previous owner, but I'm not positive. If it is them, they won't remove the post. Either way, someone is trying to sell a domain they don't own.

I've tried reaching out to the Group's moderators, but they aren't responding. Facebook's reporting won't do any good either, as there doesn't seem to be a way to leave a comment on why I'm reporting it and provide proof of ownership.

Any suggestions?

Those Facebook groups are notorious for being filled to the brim with scammers, liars, and cheaters. The moderators aren't responding for a reason. I would leave it alone because there probably isn't much you can do unfortunately. Unless I'm wrong about the moderators' intentions and they actually do reach back out to you.

Either way, best of luck in solving that problem...

I suppose it depends on the group(s). I Admin/Mod a few FB groups and handle what's reported within 12 to 24 hours (Depending on the group and what needs to be done). Some groups get resolutions within 1 to 6 hours or sooner.

You can certainly start a conversation with one of the moderators or admin of the FB group(s), in which, proof can be provided within that message (The messages allow attachments and links).

Unfortunately, most (Not all) FB groups get so inundated with spam/scams that moderators (Generally unpaid) just give up and let the group(s) get consumed by it. Sad situation and why many FB group die off.

Many people just don't have an extra few+ hours per day to donate their time to keeping a FB group monitored and supported, which is unfortunate.

Did you reach out to the moderators + admin personal accounts or through the group contact or management company account?

I've reached out to several of the admins / moderators, with no response. There are still a couple more for me to try. Most of them seem to own or work for one company. But I'm not sure if it's appropriate to reach out to that company. It's not like the Facebook group is actually related to the company.

The group is moderated and posts need to be approved. I also posted to the group asking how to get a domain listing removed, offering to supply proof that I owned the domain. Someone approved the post, but they didn't answer. So, I'm kind of thinking they just approve anything without reading it and they don't really care.

That's a quick way to get a FB group restricted by META, whom runs algorithmic reviews on groups now days and gives a 3 strikes and your out rule.

I once accidentally approved a post in a group that META Algo removed 2 days later and they cited the group with a warning and veiled threat to restrict/ban it if such approvals happened again.

It also served as a reminder that relying on 3rd party platforms for anything that can be life changing if shut down for something trivial/accidental, is a bad idea.

Hopefully the moderators will get back to you.

In the top left of the group, just under their header image. Does it say who the group is by?
If so, is it the same company name most the moderators are part of?

If so, then it's acceptable to contact the company.

Thanks for the info. I stand corrected, the group is by the company. I'll try contacting them if nobody from the group responds in a couple more days.
