Hey folks

Just want to gauge some opinions on a good situation that I'm in at the moment.

I currently write and submit articles to various directories, and am making approx. $30/month from Adsense.

Here's my question for experienced webmasters and article guru's....

Would it be prudent to create a website of my own, post those articles on that site, submit those articles to directories, reap revenue and then sell the site based on it's revenue?.

thanks

Good question and I would like to hear the answers also.
I was looking into this as well and think that it wouldn't hurt to get your own site going.

I am currently looking at doing something like this:
1. Create main site (I own).
2. Write articles for main site.
3. Rewrite the articles or use similar keyword concepts post the new article on revenue sharing article sites. Link back to your main site.
4. Bookmark each article at revenue sharing social bookmarking sites. Bookmark the article at your own site plus the article on the rev sharing site.
5. Monetize your own site with methods not available on the rev sharing sites(Clickbank,CPA etc)

If any of the rev sharing sites go under you still have your own site. If they stay active you get some nice PR links as well as any extra income. Your rev sharing bookmarking might make a few dollars but it also gets traffic to your rev sharing article sites which should lead pack to your main page.

As for selling, unless you got an exceptional offer, it might be best just to keep adding content around the web with the focus on driving traffic to your own site. If your articles are decent with rankable keywords they could continue to pay you for a while. IF you do sell and get a great price you still have articles that pay clicks (even if they drive traffic to a new site owner)

So, I would say get your own site going but use your current article marketing to get you more revenue.
