Subdomain with cpanel

I want to set up a friend with a subdomain, but i want him to be able to use cpanel. I have cpanel, and ifigured out how to give him an ftp, but can't figure how to give him cpanel

You need to have access to WHM (http:2086, https:2087) to do that.

Just add him in WHM as you would do a domain

I'm guessing you have a shared package. In that case you can't. WHM is only offered with resellers.
