Sub domain(s) resolving question

Hi,


If I buy the domain: xxxxxx.com and it has 300 links listed...such as:


xxx.xxxxxx.com

and

xxxxxx.com/xxxx
xxxxxx.com/xxxx/xxxx

Etc.......

if someone "clicks" on these links, will all these links resolve to the main domain: xxxxxx.com?

if not, is there anything I can do to get them to do so?

They will if you set up a custom 404 error page that redirects to the main page. There's a number of ways this can be done.

Do you have access to Dynamic DNS?

Its easy to do like anthony said. But if you are using it to park, for PPC for instance. Fabulous, Sedo etc.. catches all traffic.

About the sub domains (*.domain.tld), you need to have a correct configured NS to map those somewhere.

Thanks for your replys.

I think I have Dynamic DNS....The domain is parked at Enom.

This is like a foreign language to me....so please explain in the simplest terms possible.

If you're doing this server side, you can catch all xxx.xxxxxx.com traffic by setting up wildcarded dns (* A record or CNAME).

Regarding xxxxxx.com/xxx/ and xxxxxx.com/xxx/xxx, setup a .htaccess in your main web directory (cpanel servers are usually /home/username/public_html/) with the following:

ErrorDocument 404 http://[b]xxxxxxxx.com[/b]

You can just redirect these links to the main domain by editing the files and putting a redirection script in it. It would be easier if you have Cpanel, because Cpanel lets you do that quickly.
