I am trying to decide which domain naming convention to use to develop a full-functioning website. For sake of discussion, I have simplified the names by using "golf".
Example 1:
Let's say I do not own the following:
- golf.com
- golf.net
Similarly, let's say that I do own the following:
1.) golfing.com
2.) golf.biz
3.) golf.org
If my target audience was "golf", which of the latter 3 would be the best for marketing, SEO, brand strength, etc? The sport is commonly referred to as "golf" and .com is clearly stronger. The name "golfing.com" has strength, but is it better than golf.org or golf.biz?
--
To help the discussion, what if we added a common term at the end of it, such as "team". Does this help determine the stronger brand?
Example 2:
Let's say I do not own the following:
- golfteam.com
- golfteam.net
Similarly, let's say that I own the following:
1.) golfingteam.com
2.) golfteam.biz
3.) golfteam.org
If my target audience was "golf", which of the latter 3 would be the best for marketing, SEO, brand strength, etc?
--
Thanks for any thoughts!
