StreetJustice.com - Sold on TDNAM XX,XXX

The expired domain name StreetJustice just closed on TDNAM for $21,095

Well more than I expected, but a quality domain name. Ironically, GoDaddy estimated the traffic at less than 100 uniques per month. (if I recall correctly).

Now the race is on.... will the domain be redeemed? I bet it will...

Wow, that's a decent price this name went for, but still a nice name IMO

And as I predicted... domain name was redeemed and is renewed through 2009

So the name was sold, then it was redeemed by the original owner? How is this possible???

the expired domains are auctioned during the grace period, before they are actually deleted (else you could just hand reg them?), so the previous owner can still renew the name until approx 2 weeks after the auction (though I think they have to pay some extra fees)

Exactly true. And the extra fee is $80 for the redemption, that adds 1 year onto the domain name...

So, my guess is someone called him up after or durring the auction, and offered a couple grand to redeem and sell.. My bet is, he recieved several of those phone calls.

I didn't realize TDNAM had domains going for that much. Is that pretty unusual? I remember using them when the service was first introduced, and sales were piddly - to say the least!

Usually traffic names see x,xxx - but rarely do I see domains eclipsing the xx,xxx mark without having any traffic statistics. But this is not very common for TDNAM, and interestingly enough, this domain didnt even have a Bid on it until the last 48 hours of auction...

too bad too, I had been watching it for about a week earlier.

Looks like someone did redeem and flip. It's back on tdnam with less than a day to go at $505. Once the bids get as high as $xx,xxx is there a way godaddy screens potential bidders? I mean is it possible for someone to run up the bid with no intention of buying the domain?
