Still hot categories

With the state of the current economy, a lot of previously hot categories have fallen in value steadily. I was wondering which are the ones that are still worth investing in esp. for medium-term profit? (let's say if I want to buy low and sell high within a year?). lll.com, lll.net, lll.org, ccc.com, llll.com, cvcv.com, which of these seem like good investments??

LOL, isn't the goal for everyone? Whether you are buying hand-registered or aftermarket is beside the point in relation to this question. Nobody knows. Most think LLLL have popped their bubble, dropping values have backed that up. Just invest in names that will have legitimate value to an end-user at some point.

But don't bet on selling anything for a significant profit within one year's time. This is for 99% of domain investors, not a get rich quick scheme. This is a long term hold that is and always will be highly speculative.

In todays market invest only in a keyword rich and sensible domain ..... those high price stupid domain names days r long gone

Hot categories are keyword domains that have a clear use. They are easy to monetize and you can always find end users on those type of domains.
