Statues: Locked vs Pending deleate

I'm kinda new at this so bear with me,. I've had my eyes on this domain name its pending delete can anyone tell me when it will be available by the expiration date? Also when I do the same who is search at godaddy it says its locked, does this mean anything reguarding it deletion?

When I do a who is look up on netfirms it says
Status: pendingDelete
Updated Date: 05-jan-2009
Creation Date: 25-oct-2004
Expiration Date: 25-oct-2008

When I do a who is on Godaddy it says this


Status: Locked
Creation date: 25 Oct 2004 02:29:45

I'm going to assume that Godaddy is the registrar because the say the time and date it expired. Netfirms has "rounded" the time to the next day.

Since the domain is at Godaddy, it also shows the domain status as "locked" and an expired domain cannot betransfered anywhere as far as I know, except possibly to another Godaddy account WHILE the domain is in the grace period after expiring.

The registry status is pendingdelete and that should be true no matter when you look at the domain. Then the time it will be free, dropped, or deleted is something I can't remember, but I think it's about 6 weeks after the grace period is over.

I use the Domain Monitor from DomainTools.com and they send me an email when the domain status changes in some way. I've been able to get a few domains that way using their free service.
