The funny part is he started this thread, seen examples most all LN dot coms now in the 5 figs yet wanted to bid $1,200...lol On a name RJ already had at $11,000 in the first 15 minutes ? The guys full of crap. DNOA, years as a member, lots of post. makes no difference, he's a dressed up turd at best.

True to form, he has yet to honor his bid at Afternic. It has been ten days since the auction ended and the agreement to purchase the domain became binding. The Escrow manager just sent out another reminder message. I'll keep you updated. :td:

I too have recently had a large transaction with Maroulis and it was quick and pleasant as can be. Hope that he gets refunded by staskul.

The general consensus between A few Staff and Forum Leaders so far is at the Very least :

1) We will allow a Negative Trader Rating Here at Namepros.
2) Anyone with complaints of this nature should Report it to DNOA so it is on record (where it can show as an unresolved complaint on their public profile).
-and- Possible suspension if the ethics committee so decides.


It does add to the Fire for me that this "so called" Browser error costed Maroulis listing fees ...

Another 10 days have passed and staskul has still not responded to the escrow transaction at Afternic. The escrow manager, Brian, has now sent three reminder messages. Having been through this before with non-paying bidders at Afternic, I know in a short matter of time they will cancel the transaction. They will cite "non-performance by the buyer" and terminate his Afternic membership. They will also then be in a position to give me identity information of the non-paying bidder. This will provide me an opportunity to pursue enforcement of the purchase agreement, if I choose to go that route.

In case you missed any of the story with my domain, here's a recap. On August 7th, staskul started a discussion on this forum about NN, LL, N-N, and L-L domain values. Shortly after, staskul next made a public post stating that he was looking to acquire NNN.com, N-N.com, and L-L.com domains. His post referenced the pricing guide at 3character.com, stating that "N-N.com can cost $150."

Clearly, he began looking into acquiring numeric domains at the lowest prices possible and was searching for information on price points. Three days after his posts on Namepros, he made an offer on my N-N.com domain listed at Afternic. That was on August 10th. His bid met the reserve price and 7 days later the auction ended with his bid being the highest (and only bid received) at $750. Prior to the offer, the minimum acceptable bid for this domain was set at $750 - so no lower amounts could have been entered. The binding agreement between Afternic member staskul and myself went into effect on August 17th.

This is a textbook case of an amateur domainer showing no regard for business ethics and "fishing" for information in the wrong way.

Staskul has been very active on Namepros the last few days, including 12 posts made from yesterday and today. Since he has not replied to this thread or the Afternic escrow transaction, I can only assume he is intentionally avoiding the issue.

This has costed both members above money and Valuable time .... Maroulis obviously lost money from the listing fees (Fees are based on ending bids most times) - and there is NO doubt that both of the members time lost has monetary value. Anyone who makes a living from the web doesn't have time to waste on incidents like this.

BTW about start of the thread: I've registreded the domain 2character.com in the begin of august and decided to create website of priceguide and sell it, so that's why I was interesting in Market Prices for this domains.
I don't know really how to cancel transaction at Ebay, I am newbie

Fonzie - there's language barrier here but his ACTIONS speak louder than his WORDS - he's full of CRAP... Read his PM and look at screenshots you'll understand...I'm out $230 because of this not to mention my wasted time...

But it seems to me that Staskul just made a mistake.
And he does have 41 positive feedbacks.
I always check feedbacks before I do a transaction with anyone
here, as i assume we all do. So his negative feedback
will probabily be read by everyone he does a transaction with.
Is there someway that Staskul could have profited from this?

My comment was regarding this statement of his. He may be actually trying to rectify his mistake by compensating you and/or cooperating with ebay to get you your fees back, etc. I don't know if this is his motive or not, I'm just saying make sure you know exactly what his intentions are... You're out money and Staskul owes you and Paxton. Staskul, be a man here and step up to the plate and make good.

All it takes is one mistake... it takes years to build a reputation and a second to have it collapsed... he did exactly that, his 40 positives mean NOTHING to me.. If you want him that bad in the community just send me a cheque for $230 then we'll talk about it....

His motive is real clear - he's a TIMEWASTER... he came in this thread after numerous PMs from Mark and others.. he even said that he "sent me a PM before going on vacations" Fonzie did you even read the attachments I have posted?

Give me a break communication barrier and BS... his email from ebay said "browser mistake" let's NOT go through this whole thing again
