Morning,
I've kind of exhausted the free promotional techniques for my online community site www.artinvolved.com. This got me some subscribers and content, but not as much as i had hoped.
I did the:
- Email all your colleagues with a descriptive story about the site asking for feedback and tell them to tell their creative friends.
- Submit the URI to dmoz and the social bookmarking sites (the bookmarking sites don't seem to do much though)
- Send the descriptive message to the over-time-made facebook, hyves, msn people available.
While traffic, ofcourse, increased .. it's nowhere what it should be.
I do realise promoting www.artinvolved.com and growing it bigger takes a LOT of time and effort, but I'm quite curious as to where to put that effort in at this stage.
Did i miss any effective free advertising things, or should i get my wallet out already and do some paid advertising. If so, on where.
I read something about advt. on high-traffic sites like pixel2life.nl and the like, which sounds like the right thing to do, but not sure if that's the right step at the moment.
Suggestions are highly appreciated.
