Are there any reliable platforms out there where I can start an auction? I know Ebay is one but I guess its not very reliable when you are selling a domain name more than $200?

Please advice..

Sell it here on Namepros

To auction it at Sedo etc you have to have a bid before you can sent it to auction

Godaddy Auctions has a 7 day public auction.

I mostly count on Flippa as to public auctions.
I used their platform and the results were good.
You can also choose different lengths of time rather than 7 days for more exposure.
But you may want to consider buying upgrades/asking them for promotions in order to receive a better exposure to your listing, in case you will choose them.
Godaddy commission is 30% as to premium listing and their regular listings don't receive enough exposure.
Flippa commission is 10%.
I generally stay away from Sedo since they have a very slow verification process and their support
is bad.
There are also other marketplaces which may provide you with better results.
I suggest reading reviews about the major marketplaces before making a decision.

Seconding Flippa if you want to get it sold.

Thanks for all your comments.. I have started an auction on Flippa.com. Can anyone kindly take a look at my newbie auction listing and tell me if there is something I can do to improve it?

https://flippa.com/3482971-radioland-com

I created an email id for the domain name so that I can use it to send out emails to potential end users so had to change the name servers back to godaddy and currently when we hit the name, it shows up all unnecessary garbage. What do you guys suggest here?

Thanks..

Set your starting bid at $1 - @Domain Shane wrote an excellent article explaining why : http://domainshane.com/bid-dollar-raise-intelligence/

put up a super simple website for it.

you could try godaddy's free one-page website (maybe called Instant Page?)........ but I don't know if you can use domain email at the same time. might be worth calling tech supprt to find out.
