The domain name www.starspangled200.org used to be a site owned by the State Of Maryland that commemorated the war of 1812 . The state even went as far as putting the URL on about 800,000 license plates.
But here is the news......apparently a Filipino online gambling site got a hold of the domain when it expired and is now redirecting it to their business which means that 800,000 Marylanders have been unknowingly advertising for the gambling site for some time now.
Personally, I think that most people who visit that site probably just hit the back button and exit when they realize they have been redirected. I may be wrong, but it doesn't seem to be as a big a deal as they are making it out to be....what do y'all think?
