I've been ambivalent about what to do with this domain, but I've finally decided to use it for a toy/game merchant site. I've posted it on eBay a few times, but no offers I want to consider, so perhaps after it is a profitable game/hobby store it will receive more interest.

So, I need a mascot, and this is what I am looking for:

A human or alien, standing, arms crossed with a gun/blazer sticking out of his right hand, with some sort of world or star setting in the background. Since this will be posted in the top left corner of the site, the character should be angled a bit, though I suppose I would consider straight on images.

First place will receive $60, and second place will receive $30.

I need to have complete rights to the images, no pulling from a clipart, I want original artwork.
Please keep in mind that the winning creator will get additional business from me down the road, as several new images of the mascot will be required on different pages.

Contest will end at the end of 2006, and I will choose the winner shortly into 2007.

edited to make Mark happy. :)

Okie dokes, contest closed, I will speak with a partner about the entries and get back to the board on the 2nd, possibly the 3rd.

Thanks for the wonderful entries!

Sorry I couldn't get another entry in. Being the Christmas Period, I was away with family.

S'okay, Carlitos, I appreciate the time you took to make an entry, you are quite talented!

Right now, I've got it down to 2 entries, Johan's design is just superb, I like it best when it comes down to style. If the site was a Spy related theme, it would be a hands down winner. Abu's entry, however, is dead on, theme-wise, and also very well created. So, I am vacillating between the two, and need to talk to a partner to decide which is first, and which is second.

dzynd4u and Carlitos made excellent entries, and I do apprecaite the work that went into the designs. Although I am going to work with the two others in regards to finishing this project out, I do need logos and mascots on a regular basis: I will be contacting both of you for some work down the road. I now have a group of 4 talented artists to work with, and could not be happier!

Thanks all,

-Tom Rice

Well as a finishing note, I'd just like to say that this was a great contest, for me anyway, many of the other contests are designing on computer, but this was enjoyable for me because it was something different.

Thanks for the compliments, and I do hope I can give you the style that you need in the future. Really hope to do business again.

Great contest, Great contest holder.

Thanks,
Carlos Almeida

Okay, we've talked it over, and decided that we can use both Abu and Johan's entries, either for this site or a second TBA. As such, if the two of you could forward your paypal address to me, I will pull some bucks out of my bank and transfer $60 to both of you.

Excellent entries, all of you. I do hope you will consider entering my next contest, which is already listed here at namepros, and requires a bit more drawing.

Thank you, Abu. It will be a few days before the transfer goes through, I need to upload some bucks first. Hey, how about if you just PM me your account name, and delete it from the above post, no need to broadcast your paypal account name to passersby... After it goes through, we will work out the details of the design.

Thanks!
