StarCommand.com Mascot Needed, $60 To Winner

I've been ambivalent about what to do with this domain, but I've finally decided to use it for a toy/game merchant site. I've posted it on eBay a few times, but no offers I want to consider, so perhaps after it is a profitable game/hobby store it will receive more interest.

So, I need a mascot, and this is what I am looking for:

A human or alien, standing, arms crossed with a gun/blazer sticking out of his right hand, with some sort of world or star setting in the background. Since this will be posted in the top left corner of the site, the character should be angled a bit, though I suppose I would consider straight on images.

First place will receive $60, and second place will receive $30.

I need to have complete rights to the images, no pulling from a clipart, I want original artwork.
Please keep in mind that the winning creator will get additional business from me down the road, as several new images of the mascot will be required on different pages.

Contest will end at the end of 2006, and I will choose the winner shortly into 2007.

I -LOVE- those designs, WOW. To fit with the overall theme, I'd like a star or world image in the background, but other than that, your design is perfect.

2 entries so far that have pretty much raised the bar for everyone, dzynd4u and Johan have outdone themselves. Anyone else?

I feel SO much better about this contest. I was a little nervous to start with, because I did not know how to anticipate the quality of talent here, nothing really to base it off of. But after seeing the first two entries, and checking out some other contests, there seems to be a rather exceptional pool of talent hanging out here.

I didn't notice this contest until a few minutes ago...here is my entry.

Keep in mind it is very rough draft...the final version would be created in Flash or Illustrator and will have super clean lines, vivid colors, etc.

Abu- That is an excellent entry, with the exception of the domain, which is "StarCommand.com". Other than that, it is perfect, fits the theme of the site to a T.

Carlitos- I like the character, but it looks focussed more on neighborhood rough and tumble, where I am going more for a hi tech space guy or alien type entry. Nice hairdo, I like that!

Johan- Well done, I can't think of anything you need to do to improve your design, very stylish.

Unless I miscounted, that is 4 excellent entries so far!

Carlitos-That's closer to what I was looking for, but it doesn't quite feel right yet.

Abu- I liked the first guy a lot, but this figure is even better.
