.st domains - Worth anything?

I have a chance to purchase a ".st" domain name. It is a four-letter dictionary word that would be worth tens of thousands, if not more, if it was a .com. Would be adult related. (I never mentioned the name so hopefully this topic can stay in this forum.)

Unfortunately it is only a .st

Are these domains worthless? I guess the value would have to be in search engine optimization and branding, since I can't picture anyone ever typing in something ending in .st.

I can purchase it for mid $XXX. Too much or is this a diamond in the rough?

As for .st Domains - No opinion really , Never really thought about them one way or another except when Someone was trying to push US State domains around once.

mid $XXX ?
I would not buy .st at reg fee. If this is for resale I would look at more mainstream extensions.

What does .st stand for?

Anyway, regardless of that, I think they have less value than even a .ws domain name.

I have heard some marketing as State (Ohio.St), Street (Wall.St), and on their website, STar which to me is quite a reach.

I'd say it has about the same value as .sc, .ws, .im, and .cc. Just another of many ccTLD's opened up for general registration.

.ST would only mean Street to mean just like .CC = Credit Card...

I actually like .st as it is sooo brandable and very easy to remember and also CHEAP! I just sold 420.st at sedo last week and have about 30 more. A lot of them make back their reg fees in parking.

I tell people it can stand for street. Then throw up the domain on a street sign and it becomes memorable.

ANy other questions about .st just pm me.

I like this ext myself and I was going to reg. LL.ST for a good domain hack but the price of 2 letter cost $1,000 or 999 Euro per year. I love domain hack but not for that amount.

No, I wouldnt say they are worthless. They are probably less worth than .com, but at the end it always comes down to what it is worth to the buyer. If you find the right one, it might be worth quite much.

As to .st in particular however, my personal experience was not really good. I had a domain registered with them and they suddenly dropped it from the root servers from one day to the other. Every attempt to contact them did not get a single answer. When the renewal was due, they could remember how to contact me however.

What's worth more than .com? :hehe:

.st may be brandable but the only I've ever heard is AMIE.ST which now redirects to AMIESTREET.COM :)
