Sponsoring a 3rd World Country Child

Hey everyone,

I saw an ad on TV for WorldVision (www.worldvision.com.au), a charity that allows people to sponsor a child in a 3rd world country. As a sponsor you receive a folder with information about the child you are sponsoring including a photo. Every year you will receive an updated one of these with new information including updates on their health and education. As a sponsor you can also send and receive letters from the child (they are sent online).

I was hoping that between the namepros community that we could raise enough money regularly from people's donations to sponsor a child. I will happily take care of all the work and will scan in everything I receive.

The price for sponsoring a child is AU$39/ month (which is about US$1/ day).

Would like to see if anyones interested

World vision is definitely a safe charity. I know many people who sponsor children with them (including the local McDonalds :hehe and they are often running TV campaigns and charity events here in Australia.
