Speed Issues

Hmm, Past few days I've been getting some real issues with the speed of the namepros server. It used to be BANG,BANG,BANG pages zipped up and even until last month things were relatively fast. But past few days, things have slowed down significantly where I can barely browse NP without wincing.

I'm not sure if this is a connection problem or the server just has trouble dealing with such a large forum.

I'm noticing a bit of a slower response right now, as well ... than I can remember prior to vacation at least! Hmmmm ... let's see if I can do some "tweaking" (does anyone remember where I put my pliars?!?).

All kidding aside, I'm going to get together with RJ and Apollo on this by the a.m. and see if anything might be done to maintain desired Namepros Broadband© speed, IMHO.

I'm going to keep a monitor on this over the next few days and see I can identify the reason for any slowdowns. I'll also try optimizing the MySQL settings now and see if that helps a little. Thanks for pointing it out.

Namepros is fast for me it was only a bit slow when you put that warning message on the top about backing up the website

It's slow for me. It took me 20-25 secs to load up this page on DSL.

We are hosted in Houston, Texas in EV1's newest datacenter. It's a nice place, I got the opportunity to tour it a few months ago.

Same here, but it's sped up a lot since last week. Still a little slower then it was a month ago but not too bad...

Slow downs are to be expected, during peak hours. If you have 300+ people pulling from the same database all at once, I wouldn't expect it to be super fast!
