Spaceship.com recently launched a new Marketplace section, and as NamePros has given me the go-head, I think the company deserves its own thread for NP domain marketplace users to converse in.

https://www.spaceship.com/sellerhub/

Personally speaking, I will be setting up a new Spaceship.com account this weekend and going to work investigating its various features, options and policies.

Well, do understand that if you do, and they rip you off, you agree not to report the crime:

https://www.spaceship.com/legal/domain-marketplace/

7. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute concerning, relating to, or arising out of a Listing Transaction, You understand and agree that Spaceship shall not participate in any such dispute, except in the limited circumstances explicitly stated herein with regard to the Domain Sale feature, and You explicitly agree not to name Spaceship as a party to any lawsuit, administrative proceeding or criminal investigation.

Thanks for pointing this out. Now I am really concerned about listing there. I will take more time to make my decision.

@Spaceship I have a question. On Spaceship where they ask us for a description for our domain, do they have an AI bot where we can use to describe some use cases for our domain, like Atom has? Thanks

I've added some domains to SellerHub and visited the landing pages and I can't believe they are in (unsecure) HTTP

I don't know if It takes some days to update or they are just that way

In case you are thinking it's not a problem because that's not a payment page, I know that but It's about a trust impression to visitors. Also Chrome is showing me blank page telling me it's an insecure connexion

I see the issue is with some tlds
Some TLDs require HTTPS to be present, like .dev and .app.

HTTPS is technically not enabled on their webservers, no matter the TLD.

Spaceship should enable it for all landers, because it's 2025.

Hard to believe that a digital technology company would build a new marketplace that doesn't enforce HTTPS.

The digital element, in particular, is key!
And it's not like they can do a GD and blame the fact that they are working with a 20 year old system that that are trying to fix up... coz, well, Spaceship just built the thing...

Tweet this issue on X and tag them, when they see a lot are complaining they will take it very serious .

The absence of HTTPS on the landers (on the bare domain) is the reason I'm holding off on trying the landers for now. That said, all my domains are already listed through SellerHub, so they appear in the search paths of Namecheap and Spaceship.

Hello. I have also noticed a very strange way of crediting funds for domain sales in currencies other than USD. All my domains are listed in the marketplace in USD. If a domain is purchased in another currency, I should receive the domain’s sale amount minus the commission. But right now, this is what happens:
1757069003170.png

1757069073856.png

599 USD – 5% fees = 569.05 USD
4,057.78 USD – 3,488.73 USD = 569.05 USD

But this strange way of crediting funds - first adding the amount and then partially deducting it - only creates more confusion and problems. I would prefer to simply see an incoming payment for the correct amount in USD, and that’s it, just like it currently happens when a domain is sold in USD. In the case when I need to show my auditor an account statement for tax calculations, how will I be able to explain these credit and deduction amounts to him? They don’t match the amounts in the domain documents available in the panel.

1757345171118.png

1999 USD (fixed domain price in the Spaceship market) - 5% fees = 1899.05 USD
13,539.28 USD - 11,641.18 USD = 1898.10 USD
As a result of all these strange money manipulations, 0.95 USD less was credited to the account than should have been. The problem is still not solved.

Fix: turn off For Sale page and turn it back on
You cannot fix that the webservers block connections to port 443 (https) with that.

Or are you using other webservers than those mentioned earlier?

LTO for landers now available
That's a good thing. Hopefully in search paths soon, as well.

Edit: or is this already the case?

For one domain I set the LTO settings and hit Save, but it doesn't remember the settings.

Tried Firefox and Chrome.

I’m just using Spaceship’s standard nameservers and their default lander. The toggle was the fix they suggested, and after doing it the SSL reissued and started working.

Yeah I am talking with them regarding this.

Can you DM an example domain? I'd like to find out more about this.

Thanks.

I just noticed that the credited amount is exactly the sale price in CNY minus 5% fees: 14,251.87 × 0.95 = 13,539.28. But instead of Chinese yuan, USD is credited to the balance, and because of this, funds are deducted. Overall, it looks like a terrible workaround that needs to be fixed urgently.

Thanks @silentg for sending some example domains with SellerHub HTTPS landers.

These domains seem to be using different webserver IPs than I mentioned earlier, and those webservers DO indeed handle HTTPS without problems. Everything works fine.

Webservers: 44.232.173.249 and 52.40.42.113.
