discuss Sometimes it pays to pay the BIN price

I have just closed another acquisition privately for a two word dot com domain, it’s a low four figure sales but I could have saved myself $1k using the Afternic BIN price, instead of trying to acquire it privately.

I'm curious though, why agree to buy it at that point? Personally I would have not agreed to even one penny above the original BIN as a matter of principal.

Unless maybe they truely weren't budging and I absolutely had to have the domain. But I rarely absolutely have to have a specific domain, and if I do its for a project I want to develop.

We needed the domain for a project and had a budget price in mind, it’s one where I could have the pulled the trigger lower at the BIN but tried to get a better price and it bit me in the ass. It’s a lesson learned but thought worth sharing, so others might consider paying the BIN as it could work out worse if you don’t.
