Hello

I got an email from someone who is interested on a domain i registered few days ago.
He asks me what the price is.
I listed the domain for sale on sedo, but he found my email address from the Whois because i set up different email for sedo notifications.
I need the advice of an expert here:
What should i do? Make the negotiations alone or make them through sedo?
Also i don't have a clue what price to ask for.It is the first time someone is interested to buy a domain from me and i'm totally unexperienced.Could this be a scum?Any advices will be highly appreciated

Thanks a lot

It could be a scam, or it could be real. Search "domain appraisal scam" to learn more about the scam.

If the email was anything like "...domains are not our main business...." it's a scam.

Tell them to go through Sedo, and if they insist on an appraisal, tell them to get bent.

Indeed any supposed potential domain buyer who mentions the word "appraisal" should be replied to with the most unfriendly reply, as they don't care about your domain, they just care about referring you to their appraisal website and scamming you of your money for an appraisal, they usually give a link to forum posts set up to suck you in

I would prefer to go through Sedo anyway as at least you know they will take care of the selling paper work & getting the money into your account.

as you can see he contacted you sort of "under" the table that could not be right, if your site is listed on sedo then let him/her do the negotiations/transactions with sedo alone and he/she can't just bypass sedo by contacting you directly.
tell him/her to put a bid on sedo on your domain let's see if he/she still interested, if not then this might be another appraisal scam/case.
