Been looking online a lot the past few days for products, programs, scripts etc for developing video content for websites.

Maybe you are someone who has their own video content, but are not able to encode / display the content on your own sites for whatever reason ??

Came across two pretty useful sites, which may be of interest to those looking to cheapely develop their own video content.

Riva FLV Encoder
A very nifty and Free program, that will take your video input, and convert it into a flash ( .flv ) file. I have played about with this program for a day or so, and it is very easy to use, and has some nice features where you can adjust the size, quality etc of the outputted file.

Tufat Video players
A nice selection of various flash players, where you can control the settings, etc. All of these scripts cost $5, which is very cheap. They have a variety of different types of players available, and you can also see working demos, and download the programs to test before purchasing.

I have no affiliation with either of these, but I thought that some members here might find them useful, as well as give those who do have their own video content, a kick up the backside in terms of starting to develop their sites.

Anyone else know of any other related resources that we might find useful ??

Equity,

I downloaded and used both of them. The FLV converter tool works very easily, and is simply a click and point process to convert your files into FLV.

I started looking at the tufat players as well, but had a little problem with the XML file. What I wanted to do was to play a video whose url is stored in a database - however, I was struglling to find a way of inserting a $variable into the xml file.

Right this minute, I am downloading another movie converter called Super. ( http://www.erightsoft.net/home.html ) This one seems interesting to me, as it gives the user the option to save the file as a .swf as well as a .flv. I believe that the .swf files will be a lot smaller in file size, saving on bandwidth and storage ( Might be wrong with that though ). As soon as I have finished downloading the program, and have had some time to test it, I'll let you know what results I have.

Also, I came across a very interesting site earlier this evening, which I have thought was very interesting.

http://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=315188

It is a very very easy, step by step explanation of converting files to .flv and how to upload and embed them in ones site. It is very easy to follow, and using the information as a base, I have actually been able to get my videos playing whose URLs are stored in a database. ( YIPPEEE !!! - Been trying for a few days now to find a solution to do this, and it looks like I am close to finding a solution ).

Are there any other tools that anyone here can recommend ??
