Hey,
Like many on here i have been developing a couple of my .tv's lately and since i really think .tv's should be 'rich media sites' then sourcing Video content is very important.
For most development projects it is not financially viable to employ a dedicated video production team to produce totally original content for your site so i'd love others ideas on how to source video's at a lower cost.
My ideas so far:
1: Youtbe & Other Video upload sites.
The most basic way of finding video content, saves on cost and bandwidth but downside is that it looks amateurish & it can be difficult to find quality videos on such sites.
2: Edited Videos from Youtube & such
Same as before but remove the 'Youtube' logo from the corner & replace with your own Logo or site name. In doing so then it can make the videos look much more like your own produced content, maybe more credible.
3: Get Media Students to make you Videos
I have done this before, got a whole collection of videos made & paid less than $1xx to the Camera guy and similar to the very attractive presenter/model.
I simply put an Advertisement in a website that i knew was used by Students looking for part time work, i stated how it was a good chance to get their work seen and make a name for themselves....etc
It worked out very well but Students are unreliable, can only work part time and it's not really a viable solution if you want new video content regularly.
So do any of you guys have any ideas on how to find cheap video content to help developing sites?
Any ideas would be welcomed as i'm sure finding video content is something many of us have had trouble with when trying to part develop sites.
Thanks in advance,
Ronnie
