I have a few questions I would like to ask, they may seem stupid but my whole life I have made money by "selling" domain names and not traffic.

Dumm question #1

How do sites like Utube and Myspace actually make money?


DUmm question #2

If I have a website that is getting 50,000 hits a week, how do I make money with the traffic?

Question # 1 - I think they would mostly make their money through advertising. With there high page ranks and traffic they can command considerable.

Question # 2 - By adding google adsense and affiliate programs. You could also sell text links. By making it into a mini-site with articles & products can help keep your traffic around longer and to return.

Phil, sites like youtube also stand a chance of later selling their site to a big company for mega bucks.

As far as your site getting 50K hits a week, that is simply AWESOME! That would be a dream come true for me. Don't wait a minute more, get adsense or some other ad network in quick. Try promoting some good affiliate product based on your site's theme. And if you still don't know what to do with it, I'm ready to buy it.

Covers the $580 MN investment cost of Myspace nicely.

HI, everyone is right, adsense the site after analyizing the traffic and make sure and as they say here TEST TEST TEST to make sure you get the most. 50k a week, wow, you should be making big money!

Caution too, if you make good money Google will put you on the radar, make sure you read the regs of Google to make sure you don't step on their toes. Then you will be playing in the sand making nothing!

I wouldnt waste my time with adsense and affiliate programs.
with 200,000 hits per month you can do it.
just sell some ad space for cash.

Hi neighbor,

I am in Birch Bay a mile form the U.S border at Blaine Wa. Anyway it is not hard at all to place a Google adsense code on your web site. Just make sure you do not purchase ads to send visitors to it and you should be alright with Google. Good luck, turn the spigot on, see you at Pikes Place Mkt.

Go to Google, click on Advertising and then read up on Adsense. Total time to read about it and place your codes is about one hour or less.
