Hi, I was hoping some more experienced domainers could give me advice with regards to a query I've received regarding one of my domains.

The domain is the social welfare area (and therefore not likely to attract a lot of commercial end user interest - at least not anything that would generate a big sale).

Anyway I received an email late last week and the guy explained in great detail what he planned to use the domain to make a non profit site. He made it pretty clear that he was hoping to get it very cheaply, if not for free.

The obvious options I can see are to either wait and hope for a better offer or try to sell to this guy for what I paid originally, or a very small profit.

Obviously I'd love to make a profit but I am not sure this guy would be willing to part with much money. If I decided to wait for another offer it could be a long wait, and possibly not very lucrative.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like that guy is full of it.
Stop wasting your time.

However, if you still want to try...
Ask him for a offer in $ just in case he might think you bought it from someone which I doubt.
Tell him you are NOT going to hold the domain for him.

I need an advice also, one of my .info name which was listed on sedo got an offer of $100, but I rejected and made an counter offer of $1400, which I know myself that its pretty high, but we all wanted the best possible offer and expected that the buyer will do the bargain but he did not. Sedo will take the 50% of the sale which left me $50 on sales. In other words the deal is off. After 3 months I received an email asking ifthe nsme Iis for sale and this time I replied yes it is for sale and he ix welcome to mske An offer, digging more information, I found out that there are a lot of bids and offers received by the same name though from different extensions, affirmatively, the name has value. Should I sell it and how much? Or should I just keep it and wait for a bigger possibilities?

Unless that .info is a great keyword or has a lot of traffic, $1,400 sounds like a lot, but it's difficult to tell without knowing the name. But I understand why you might not want to blab the name on the forum.

If you're okay with revealing the domain, try the appraisal thread, given that this is someone else's thread.

And if you are a fancy restaurant, i don't know why you would want to put up with a hobo so he can eat in your resto and pay you loose change.

And the hobo will pay you short. lol

I can't imagine going through this kind of trouble with a hobo buyer.

And he didn't have the money to pay only 10% above cost? Wonder if he even has money to buy soap.

Could be a real hobo. :o
