What would you do in this case?

I sold a name a year ago. Buyer paid in two installments within two weeks. From the first payment, I redirected the domain to the buyer's website and it is still redirecting.

From the last payment (a year ago) I sent buyer instructions to accept the push and have reminded him many times. He has answered saying he will accept the push, but has failed to do so.

I even had to renew the name. Very frustrating...

Maybe take the site offline to get their attention.

His problem now, not yours.

You are doing the right action by reaching out and telling him to accept it. If possible I would say try to get him on the phone or set up a phone call then have it do the process of accepting while you on the phone, this way you make sure he gets it done. It is pretty weird he has not done it for such a long time even after paying for it.

What registrar? Could you set up an account with his info and push it there then turn the whole account over? How frustrating.

Try @wwwweb 's idea first - send a notice with a firm dated deadline stating that if he does not accept push before then you will take the site offline until the push is complete.

I have the same problem with one domain. I've sent emails and have received no reply. So, the lawyer in me is sending a certified letter, with return receipt requested, to the buyer (which is another lawyer) giving him 30 days to contact me. I've already renewed once, and will not renew again once those 30 days are up.
