I realise its still early days for .eu domains & I'm sure their value will increase over time. Whats your opinions on www.sold.eu in the current market? I also have www.conrod.co.uk - not interested in selling but it'd be nice to get a valuation.

Sold.eu looks very nice indeed! You could put up a simple site for people to list eu domains they've sold etc. I'm no expert at pricing but I think its definitely worth at least $2k+++ up!

$2000 lol !!! I'll give you 5K for it right now if you want.

.eu will definitely grow to be a large market.

Hold onto this domain, unless you feel like being stupid and sell it 2 me for 5K :)

Hotels.eu recently sold for 250,000 Euros.

Shopping.eu also sold for 150,000 Euros.

onlinecasino.eu sold for 36,500 Euros.

I think sold is a top premium domain name and will easily compete with shopping.eu for around 150,000 euros.

Saying that please consider my offer :)

Well actually i may lower my estimate to High XX,XXX as the .com has no site there, and may be able to purchased for that amount.

ALthough Yahoo purchased sold.com.au an old australian auction site for 13,000,000 USD around 24 Million AUD at the time of purchase from the Fairfax Group. However Yahoo ending up leaving the auction market and the site now is redirected to ebay.

Please do not laugh at one's appraisal. Every person here is allowed his free opinion. Thanks :)

I estimate a mid$XXX to the right domain reseller and no prediction or input on end-user interest, could be a lot higher.

zero_haze_au - thanks for the offer, it beats the 35usd I was offered by someone on this forum last week! (who shall remain anonymous....)

I'd be interested in promoting the domain, I was thinking about subdomains but have no idea how it works. I quite like the idea of a listing prices for .eu names but again, I don't have a clue how to do this or where to get the information. Advice welcome....

Bertelli,

A development idea would be "Developing a Domain name Sale Database" not just for.eu. It could for example act like a reference to Sold domain names, xx.com sold for .. xx.net sold for .. a searchable database ofcourse.

This name is short and people will remember it. But having lists for .eu would limit potential.

Agree with Porte in regards to development.

Personally the name 'sold' to me relates to an auction site, however i would never make one due to the competition and market share you need to capture just to get an auction site of the ground.

In regards to getting up to date pricing for .eu domain names, there are basically 2 ways you can this. Firstly you need list of all the registrars for .eu. Then either:

1. Manually goto these websites and input their pricing into your database (very time-consuming, though accurate)

2. Develop a simple script that you can run anytime that will essentially act as Search Engine Spiders do, and automatically open the url's you specify, down load the page, read the page and extract the pricing info and update your database. This is of course automated though usually to ensure accuracy you need custom algorithms for each registrar so it knows what part of the page is the pricing info.

3. Nothing like free Self Promotion - I can provide you with a private RSS Link if you want to use my site - domainrates.org pricing data :) I haven't finished my site yet, only have 6 registrars listed though it will be completely populated within the week.

Taking into account recent history of .eu sales I think 2K-3K EUR is the current market price for sold.eu. Eu will rule for sure - no doubt - it is baked by the second largest economy in the world.
