Hi, Everyone!
I haven't posted here in a while, but wanted to share a recent sale.
I started my domain investing business in 1999 and I've had some high dollar sales over the years, including five and low six figures, but this is my biggest sale in 26 years of domain investing.
Ironically, it follows one of the slowest periods I've ever had without a sale (from mid-January to June) including a buyer forfeiting on an LTO deal.
One thing I've learned from my many years of domain investing is that it's just like life: lots of ups and downs.
Hopefully, this is a lesson to all domain investors to keep at it and not give up even during hard times, because it only takes one sale to turn everything around.
Anyway, here's the info and hope it's helpful:
Domain name: CarbonEnergy.com
Sale Price: $ 400,000 USD
Asking Price: $ 400,000 USD
Net Proceeds: $340,000 (after $60k / 15% commission)
Sale Date: June 10, 2025
Sale Venue: Afternic
Sale Lander: Request Price
Boost Status: Off (turned off about a week before the sale)
Acquisition Date: November 14, 2006
Hold Time: ~ 18.5 years
Acquisition Venue: SnapNames
Acquisition Cost: $105
I'm attaching some screenshots as proof of sale.
One more interesting fact is that I very recently upped my asking price significantly on this domain after leveraging AI to re-evaluate the upper tier of my portfolio. Special thanks to the wonderful AI Domain Evaluator available at OceanfrontDomains.com.
Regards and best of luck to all of you in your domain endeavors,
Andy
