So Why Does a Name With One Backorder Make In On To NameJet “Top 50 Backorder List“?

I'm not a frequent NameJet user, so I wasn't aware of it. What about you? It looks unfair, to say the very least.

Backorders should be placed as late as possible, so as to avoid attention.

I agree. Nonetheless, Namejet tactics are shady.

I find snapnames shadier. They don't even show how many other bidders are there.

It makes it to the top backorder list because the namejet people identified it as being a possible name people will fight over if enough people know about it. (the whole purpose of the list)

This is probably one of the best features of Snapnames IMO

I agree with this also, but pre-release names are often pulled before you can place a backorder when using this tactic.
That just happened to me again today with several names.

All of these companies are shady in one way or another. This is why I don't like to bother too much with them.

I had names in backorder at SnapNames and I was the only bidder and tt went into public auction. There was another domain that was about to expire and they pushed the drop date in june and they pushed it to august. They're doing it because they know they can and no one is there to stop them.
