It showed available in all the site but once I wanted to purchase it it say it didn't exist, so I called GoDaddy and I spoke with the sales guy and he was amazed that it was available but couldn't do anything just like me so he went and spoke with the manager and came back and told me that it was because it was Government property! :o and it was blocked from all registrants!

Weird thing is that the .net was for sale >:(

I'm going to sleep now

I think available means "stuff you can get" :)

I've heard rumors that ICANN may sell currently incative LL.coms or even L.coms in an auction...

Why can't I register a 2 letter .com domain?

All the two and three letter combinations in .com/.net/.org were registered many years ago and they rarely appear for registration. Also, the .org registry has decided to stop registration of new 2 letter domains which means 2 letter .org domains expire but cannot be re-registered. The .biz and .info registries only permit three letter domains and above. The .uk registry allows 2 letter combainations provided one is a number, but all of these were registered years ago.

I think he saw the ones taken back by the registry.

Some domains shows up available and some shows taken, depends on the register's system. i.s I checked a "Chinese City name" .cn and it was available was going to reg it, the found unavilable in some registers, so checked it out and all city name .cn is owned by the Chinese Government.

You can't even search for 2 Letter .com's at Godaddy..... You get "is an invalid domain name."

The information there is incorrect, specifically:

The .uk registry allows 2 letter combainations provided one is a number, but all of these were registered years ago.

1 - numbers are not letters :)
2 - LL.co.uk's have been allowed eg. FL.co.uk Go.co.uk etc but they are pre-nominet names. Currently the rules prevent any registrations of LL.co.uk's. Existing ones can be renewed.

Cheers,
Rob.
