I am tracking a domain that is dropping in a few days. What is the best way to catch it? The registrar of the domain is DirectNic.

Which service has the best connections with this registrar?

NameWinner?
Pool.com?
SnapNames?

Or a different service?

I would try all of them as you will only have to pay for whichever one picks it up.

Yeah, but I have to pay for Pool.com and SnapNames upfront, and then if one of them doesn't pick it up, I can't get my money back, I can only reuse it for a different domain...I guess that would work, I'm sure I'll have many domains in the future to backorder for.

Although, does any drop catcher have any "connections" with DirectNic? Is there an auction for DirectNic such as TDNAM? I just want to be sure.

Snapnames does not charge up front :) They used to have their partners listed on their website, don't anymore - wish I had made a list :td:

off their website:

"No Risk: It costs nothing to place a back-order. You pay our low minimum acquisition fee of $60 only if we are able to deliver the domain name to you."

I'v just emailed them to ask for a list of their partners - I'll let you know if they get back to.

Well that's very good news! Let me know if you get the list. I'll try NameWinner, SnapNames, and possibly Pool.

Wow great list!

But it says that DirectNic.com drops are handled by private drop catchers:

directnic.com - NOLDC.com / keywordtraffic.info

There is nothing on those websites that allows me to bid or place an offer or contact anybody about dropping domains....will they get the dropped domains from DirectNic no matter what the name is? Or should I still proceed with the 3: Snap/Pool/NWinner?

I have the exact same question. A domain registered through directnic that I'd like to backorder, but no idea how to proceed since the major backorder companies are apparently not used. Any suggestions?

Thats exactly what happened to me with godaddy, and now I am stuck with a credit for which I will never use. PM me the name and I will back order it for you with my GD credit. If I win it, you can reimburse me the fee, if I lose it, you owe me nothing. On my honor I will NOT keep or try and sell you the name!!!

Well guess what? I didn't catch the domain. Directnic domains seem to go to Clubdrop.com (enom drop catcher). Enom might have ties with DirectNic.

The domain was financeforums.com, went for over $700.

;)

I guess if you want it bad enough you can make an offer.

yeah I booked it on Snapnames, Pool, and NameWinner, and Clubdrop got it, I completely forgot about it. The owner told me it is not for sale, rather he wants to develop. Oh well, there's plenty of better names out there for that price ;), just gotta look hard.
