I like your intepretation of the vu extension. The keyword is strong but the extension is unknown, i do not know for what it stands but it really kills the value of the domain. I will put it in the first category.

Your poll is bad, You should add some more options like 0 - 10 10 - 50 and 50 - 100

comments appreciated. their are websites on sms.ac,sms.ws,sms.in...
sms operators love to have sms.xx. And there are many sms operators who don't have sms.cctld
The very name sms will boost brand and their equity in market. Also bundled services like rintones etc has huge market in Europe and Asia. IMHO
like this Guy.Please keep comments coming

Well I have to say, I originally thought low xx ... but having just looked on Moniker, there are no other TLDs available (Moniker has a fairly big list).

So I'll revise to low xxx.

Low-Mid $XXX

Maybe more.

Thanks for comment.Even for low to mid xxx, my invetsment would survive. However, if I won't get atleast 4k, I would rather prefer to start my own sms, rigntones service website, with content and network from third party provider. And promote it on my developed websites. That was in my mind when I registred it.

I personally think it is low $xxx. .vu is very weak...the only reason there are very many .vu registered is because damitssam plundered all the good .vu names. :) Good luck though.

Love how short it is :). I'd definitely say around $100-$500. Great domain name, and you can sell for more if you find the right buyer ;).

Poker.ext is a sure sell. Single letter/number names generally are as well. SMS however is not necessarily a sure sell. That's why he left it. :)

Crookey,
While only time will tell, if my judgment was good or not .If we take sedo data as benchmark. All sms tld have got offers and total number of offer seems much better for sms. Also, I have seen poker.in being advertised on first page very often by SEDO. While none of sms tld on top page. However, I do agree, poker domains can fetch more dollars probably. But probability of sale of sms domains is comparable or better than Poker domains, In my opinion.
poker.in Make Offer 14 1599
poker.tm Make Offer 11 87
poker.vg Make Offer 10 7
poker.com.es Make Offer 13 1049
poker.ht Make Offer 2 1397
poker.web.com Make Offer 6 39
poker.ag Make Offer 5 7
poker.com.tw Make Offer 5 4
poker.pro Make Offer - 11
poker.cx Make Offer 4 14
poker.eu.com 10,000 ยฃ - 11
poker.com.my Make Offer 3 16
------------------------
sms.to Make Offer 49 248
sms.name Make Offer 9 18
sms.ws Make Offer 14 7
sms.mo Make Offer 7 55
sms.la 650 EUR 2 2
sms.lt Make Offer 3 2229
sms.vg Make Offer 2 15
sms.kg Make Offer 1 4110
sms.gs Make Offer 1 24

Hmmmm The bad thing is: .vu is unknown (I didn't even know of its existence until I read this thread. The good: vu is pronouncable ('voo'). Still, I'd say mid $xx at the moment. Give the .vu time to grow and your domain will be worth more (of course).

But I agree:

You're being unrealistic.

personally i dont like domains including SMS. I think if a visitor wanted to text someone through the web they would look for a domain including the word text, definetly not SMS. Because of that, I have to go with 0-100

I appreciate your comments. we are in domaing hence try to analyze domains from domain point of view. For an, end user who uses SMS [mainly cell phone users having web access as well], In my opinion, word SMS is so memorable they would somehow get use to Vu -VOO or Very useful kind of explanation.
In my opinion sms.vu has more value for mobile users than sms.name, sms.info and even sms.biz. Ofcourse, sms.us would be best choice.

Google Trends says
------------------
"Text messaging" stands nowhere compared to "SMS"

http://www.google.com/trends?q=sms,+text+messaging

Even comparing "SMS" with "TEXT" SMS is higher, although user typying TEXT
doesn't necessarily looking for text messaging

Also Total number of search fo SMS is more than even Poker on any given day.

My statement was that the .vu kills most of its value. I have nothing against SMS but the .vu is extremely little known. I think you domain has value, yes, but nothing like the $xxxx appraisals a few had given you. I'm not trying to be mean -- the .vu just kills it.

I appreciate your opinion and valuation. Your opinion certainly helps in finding different perespective of looking into name. A true value will be what a buyer will pay. In mean time, appraisal helps to gauge a possible mindset of a domain buyer. So I respect your opinion, its useful.

I admire that you understand the true value. A lotta people think everything they hear is accurate. Domains are only worth what a persoin would pay for it, as you said :)
