The government has unveiled plans for every home in Britain to be equipped with smart meters by the end of 2020.

Smart meters allow suppliers to remotely record customers' gas and electricity use, and let consumers see how much energy they are using.

Some 26 million electricity and 22 million gas meters will need to be fitted at a cost of £7bn.

I have purchased the following :

smartmeteringuk.co.uk

smartmeteringuk.com

uksmartmetering.co.uk

uksmartmetering.com

Only parked at the moment, wondering if theres any milage in web site or whether the domain stands up on it own? Thanks in advance.

The reason I don't like them is because you have UK in the name and in the Extension.. Their too long and you'll have to wait 8 years to see any chance of a sale..

The roll out exchange programme starts next year, to be finished by 2020. A lot of the names had already gone smartmetering etc.

The angle I'm looking at is that as soon as the programme starts (2010) there will be a lot of news on the TV papers etc which hopefully lead to a lot of googling, which in turn could lead to a lot of affiliate conversions, switching supplier etc. With good SEO could I get it high up the engines and capitalise?

Thanks for your inputs.

Good point. 'UK' in the name is redundant when the extension is .co.uk.

I love the energy efficiency / energy tech field and from that angle, the smart metering term is A1.

As mentioned above, I think the UK is the name itself is quite redundant - especially in the .uk TLD.

That said, well above reg fee for sure.

GL!

These domains break the 14-character-rule of domains. Grace delete and try for shorter domains. IMO.

Disclaimer: Please keep in mind that this is a FREE appraisal. This is a guess at quick flip resale value not an unrealistic end-user price. Often times my appraisals are rushed, too low, or too high. Sometimes my advice is totally wrong and occasionally downright dumb. If the post stamp is after 5:00pm EST, the chances are even greater that inaccuracies will occur due to blood alcohol levels.
