Small Buttons - $10-15 Each - MANY Winners!
Overview:
I am looking to have a new set of "counter styles" produced for w3counter.com -- a free web stats service. A new version of the service will be released soon and I'd like new styles to go with that.
I need the actual counter images made, you can see the current ones at http://www.w3counter.com/signupform.php, or a live one on the homepage at http://www.w3counter.com. The site takes care of drawing the current count number over top of the style image. They're about the size of 88x31 buttons, usually a bit wider, but very easy to create, and I'd like to get a couple dozen from this contest if possible.
What I need, specifically:
There are two types of "counter styles" I want to offer -- ones that show a visitor count on them, and those that are simply buttons/icons showing the W3Counter name or appropriate icon and text like "free web stats".
The ones that show a visitor count need some area that's either a white/light background, or semi-transparent so that black numbers can be printed over that space clearly. The space should be about 95x16, maybe a little wider or skinnier if it fits your design better. Examples of the current ones:
Come up with anything you think website owners might think would be a "neat-looking" counter -- colors and styles that appeal to geeks, Xanga type teen girls, classic bar graph / pie graph "stats" type imagery, whatever you want. I want a variety of styles. They don't have to all be rectangles or squares.
The other type of image I need are for people that want to use the web stats service without displaying a visitor count on their site. These should be button or smaller type images that somehow look like they identify web stats -- the name "W3Counter.com", the words "Free Web Stats", things like that. You know those "W3C Validated" / "XHTML 1.0 Valid" type image strips people put on their sites? Something like that for this service would look good.
I'm paying $10 for each submission I choose: I will choose those I like, not every submission will be used. But if I'm getting good input there will be many winners. Payment will be by PayPal and I'll pay people as their designs are chosen.
You can get an extra $5 just for submitting color variations: If you come up with a simple design, produce it in 5 or more color variations and I'll pay $15 for the whole set.
Format: PSDs would be optimal, but if you have to render the image, PNG is the preferred format for this.
Feel free to post any questions. This contest stays open until I get a good set of counter images to use for the new site. Thanks for your submissions!
