They are only valuable if they convey a useful meaning to a significant number of people. That is why there is so much interest in Chinese IDN.

The answer is yes and no.

Yet, the yes is very small - about 99.5% of dictionary word .coms worth registering are already registered. There are a very, very small number of dictionary .coms still available that might net you mid xx or high xx if you are lucky enough to find them among the refuse.

If you find one you like, put it in google and check out the hits; and check out what estibot(dot)com has to say. You have to be keenly aware if an odd or unfamiliar dictionary word has value to an end user or value that can be built up/established through development. This takes time. You can go to namebio(dot)com and browse through some of the .com sales - this will give you an idea of the quality you need to find for all range of sale prices.

At this stage in the game, if one were to find a single word dictionary word available, the odds are extremely high it's worthless. But one can reg anything one wants!

No! There are plenty of dictionary words still available to hand reg but those that are, nobody even knows what they mean & they really have no development potential to them. Anything half decent has already been regged.

If you're not sure what to do, simply google the word that is available. If it generates hundreds of thousands of results - don't think twice: get it.
