I just now noticed that the CEO of Block.one started using the phrase "Programmable Finance" or ProFi in November 2020. Any thoughts here on ProFi > DeFi as the phrase du jour for the space? I grabbed a few ProFi names yesterday, just in case.

I've seen at least 10 different "Fi" terminologies and most of them are covered by DeFi, which is probably why they will remain obscure. If you can get ___Fi.com, ___Fi.io or ___Fi.org those would be great brandables though. Otherwise I personally wouldn't bother with two word combos of non-DeFi "Fi"s .

Got me thinking - Defi looks like it will / is the umbrella term but going forwards as the space matures and expands different sub categories / niches / industries are going to develop - we are seeing Defi expand into non financial industries for example (music & energy spring to mind straight away) so other terminologies / acronyms will pop up and might become popular in these areas..... you have to be in it to win it....and if anyone grabs some then good luck to them

I'm personally happy with what I have - I added DeEn .Finance ( non "Fi" acronym!) as a punt but all these other acronyms are not for me.......

Unless / maybe a little known one pops up in the future where it is available in a major / relevant extension - never say never

I saw similar with HyFi or “hybrid finance” as a combination of DeFi and CeFi going forward, so I also grabbed a few.

I still think DeFi is/will be the goto term. There is already so much momentum behind it.
