showcase Showcase Your: Bitcoin Domains

I'm not quite sure if I'm following the rules correctly, but I wanted to start interacting in the community to learn more about domaining.

I just picked up recently a good amount of dot COM domains that are all in the bitcoin niche. I felt like it was a pretty huge niche and would have a showcase thread, but I searched and didn't see one.

If I understand correctly, you can only post your domains if it's in the specific niche showcase, so I took the initiative to begin one. If this is against the rules I apologize!

But post your bitcoin domains here! Mine will be following in the next post :tu:

isnt there a tm issue with the term "bitcoin"?

at uspto site the term "bitcoin" was regged just in oct 2013 and is about apparel.

looks like someone jumped on the bandwagon and regged the tm even tho the supposed business is not in the virtual currency industry

opportunists are everywhere trying to get a piece of anything they can

not sure why the actual bitcoin co owners had never regged the tm themselves

:?
Hey guy I just went through the process of regging my trademark and I have to admit I learned alot from my trademark attorney. so let me say that trademarks are funny. you can register trademarks any which way you want so longs your's isn't exactly like someone else's G&S meaning Goods & Services.

Wanna have some fun? check out the trademark for FACEBOOOK there's tons of them and some sell pots and pans or fishing roods and all other ridiculous G&S so long as it's not SOCIAL NETWORK which by the way has it's own G&S code? then it's all good.

Now back to Bitcoin. I think bitcoin is so in the Public domain? that the USPTO will probably deny a trademark for it on the basis that it's widely used already? it's kinda like registering a trademark for the word DOLLAR or CASH or MONEY for anything in the G&S as currency .it's way too common now I think that the USPTO would say that to register it now after the fact that all these businesses already have bitcoin in their company names and their business involves bitcoin that it's impossible to register bitcoin as a digital currency without ruining other bitcoin businesses. That plus when bitcoin exploded into the market it was so fast and bitcoin companies popped up it was too late to register the trademark because it was too common.

Plus I learned that when it comes to Trademarks it's not about a "race" to the USPTO to register a trademark but it's about "who sets up business first". In this case alot of businesses already set up bitcoin businesses so to register it now and say I was first is kinda not going to work. In fact if a bitcoin trademark were registered now the owner of that trademark might be liable for lawsuit from bitcoin businesses who have been in the bitcoin business for years. and they can show their articles of incorporation and their receipts to show that their business was actually operational?

And what's your rebuttal then? "oh yea I just had this idea today to create a trademark for "bitcoin" and that should give me enough rights to forever own the name Bitcoin"?

That? vs an owner of a bitcoin exchange or casino or news site that's been in business for years now?

You would lose. simple as that. hope that helps.

yes it IS but I bet you there's tons of "seasoned experienced guru domainers" on here who will poo poo on your words and say bitcoins suck. NEVER LISTEN TO THEM. Trust your instincts. and your own eyes.

XBT.mobi is the one "Bitcoin" name we own among many many others. As most know "XBT" will be the future currency code for Bitcoin -we're not selling this-yet anyway-but if you can grab this "XBT" in any extension I would. Comments welcome and good luck to all.
Thanks for that info. Just landed XBTXRP.com and XRPXBT.com because of that info. So are you sure XBT come is the new the future currency code for Bitcoin? over BTC? why is this so? I mean is there a reason why it's becoming XBT as opposed to BTC?

Thanks! actually I've noticed that Kraken.com (one of the largest bitcoin exchanges in the world) owns btcxrp.com and xrpbtc.com to their website. alot of these bitcoin exchanges had a "run" on similar domains and own them and are pointing them to their respective websites. for a good reason I think?

even xbtbtc.com is own by some chinese company and btcxbt.com so maybe there's some potential in these types of domains? what do you think? do you think "pitching" these domains to endusers like Bitcoin Exchanges would be a good idea?
