showcase Showcase Your: Bitcoin Domains

I'm not quite sure if I'm following the rules correctly, but I wanted to start interacting in the community to learn more about domaining.

I just picked up recently a good amount of dot COM domains that are all in the bitcoin niche. I felt like it was a pretty huge niche and would have a showcase thread, but I searched and didn't see one.

If I understand correctly, you can only post your domains if it's in the specific niche showcase, so I took the initiative to begin one. If this is against the rules I apologize!

But post your bitcoin domains here! Mine will be following in the next post :tu:

Anyone think--- Clix.us--- would make a good bitcoin mane. Thanks

I'm on the net a lot as i have a bunch of live sites and in between updating i'll
hit a lot of these get free bitcoin sites--they pay chump change but 3-4 ive looked at have large growing memberships. They sell ads -and get people to click--middlemen---others are just loaded down with adsense -bidvertizer etc.Seems like a nice game.If some one knew what they were doing.

I'd bet 95% of the domains in this thread never get sold for more than $15. Just because a niche is hot doesn't mean you're forced into buying a domain.

If it's not there, it's not there.

You're absolutely right. Actually it's the 5% that we care about :)

CoinCabs . com <----my favorite that I have
Bit-Tick . com <-----I hate dashes but I snagged it
AdultBitcoins . com <------was surprised it was still out there, just snagged it "just cuz"

and the other two I wont post the full names but I'll leave a hint...they are adult themed and i don't know the rules here...

____BTC . com
Bit____ .com

(both blank spots contain the same word, the word rhymes with dude....lol)

I usually don't do adult domains, but for some reason I nabbed those. Who knows.

My collection is not as great as I wish it could be, most of the good ones were already taken by the time I decided to register some. My favorite was CoinCabs. Just sort of rolls with my taste. If they sell they sell, if they don't no biggie. I'm just playing with them right now, and considering holding a couple longer term since bitcoin is really starting to take off finally. Who knows. Good Thread.

BITCOINS TO THE MOON!

coinescrow . com just ended on the expiring auctions and went for $3,900!

waoh thats kind of nuts.
I guess I can see why it would go for so much, I'll assume the buyer is promptly going to develop it?

where was the auction site it sold on? (not very well versed in where people do auctions, I almost thought about learning flippa just haven't approached it yet)

I got in under $100 and always LOL at articles such as these. Who knows where bitcoin will end up, but I'm more on the side that it's going to be as common place as paypal sooner or later. Just my opinoin

Per this article, I remember that happening, and I remember how my mouth was watering as I bought even more at $400 then sold off again last week when it hit over 1k again on mtgox. But I'm still holding many of the coins I bought originally. I'm a fan. Plus I just bought bedsheets for the first time on overstock.com today with bitcoins!

I could go on about that, I love talking coins, but I wont because this is a domain site....lol :D

On that note, I think bitcoin domains ( a small percentage of them ) are really going to fly. =)

A few years ago I could've purchased bitcoins(.)com for $3,500. I still have the emails, what an idiot I was.

i feel your pain.

BitCoinBanks w/info

Any interest?

See I love a good bitcoin domain, but before you register a domain one must truly understand the nature of bitcoins before taking a stab at registering a bitcoin domain with potential value.

With that being said this is ALL my own opinion, so take it with a grain of salt...I don't want to "diss" your domain by any means, but rather shed light.

One of the great features of bitcoin that is attractive is the ability to be ones own bank, aka BYOB (be your own bank). Centralized banks would be opposite in concept to the true nature of bitcoins - therefore a domain name such as "bitCoinBanks . info (or .anything) is somewhat null.

Does this make any sense? =)

You can always throw that domain name up on ebay and see if anyone upbids it. But def take another stab with a few more ideas.

On the other hand, I never thought I would see a bitcoin insurance comp. but I saw one today (insurance is different than a bank in concept of bitcoin, but I'm using an open mind here lol)

Read that bitcoins are going to be held in 'cold storage vaults' so maybe there's a new phrase to be had, albeit:

ColdBitCoins.com

Read that bitcoins are going to be held in 'cold storage vaults' so maybe there's a new phrase to be had, albeit:

ColdBitCoins.com

Cold Storage just means "offline" Most people who are holding, or investing, etc in bitcoin - and have a little experience - choose to keep their wallets offline vs. keeping them online in websites such as "coinbase" etc.

This is because websites can get hacked etc and puts your coins at risk. People pull them offline and put them into paper wallets or physical wallets (engraving their privatekeys into something like jewlery or printing them out on paper, sticking them in a safe deposit box, or somewhere safe).

Coldbitcoins could be a good domain MAYBE if you are just parking it with keyword....but it's not exactly a service that can be provided through a developed website. You never want to share your private keys with a third party to put your coins in cold storage. ESPECIALLY if that third party is connected to the internet in anyway.

If people are out there taking stabs at hand reg'd domain names for bitcoins...and are intending to have a chance at maybe selling them to someone in the future for some type of value....perhaps think of it in terms what's marketable with bitcoins. Right now lots of merchents are considering allowing bitocins as a payment option....so thinking about what things could be sold for bitcoins to hand reg a domain would be a good way to do that.

For example. I own CoinCabs . com. In my head I thought, if bitcoins ever take off, perhaps cabs and taxi's might implement ann option for people to pay cab fare with bitcoins via scanning QR codes of wallets.

I'm sure some of these are taken, you can check, maybe they are available....but just as examples things like:

CoffeeCoins
BitcoinCoffee
BitcoinPizza
BitcoinDelivery

You can use words like BITCOIN or BTC merged with other words of something like a service or item that could be sold.

BTCMaids

again i don't own those few examples and I dont even know if they are reg'd yet (most likely because they are such simple phrases). Just throwing out ideas for those interested.

Its really important to understand how bitcoin works and what it all means before spending money on hand reg'd domains otherwise your domain name could in a way contradict itself in a way if you get my drift.

Here are some keywords if you guys want some keywords related:

Bitcoin - BTC - crypto - cryptocurrency - currency - altcoin - feathercoin - FTC - LiteCoin - LTC - Peercoin - PPC - Namecoin -NMC - Wallet - Coin - Mining - Miners - Pool - Satoshi - mBTC - micro-bitcoin - Hash - Hashing

again knowing the context of these terms might be key if you plan on reselling. I guess just trying to park based on keywords could be a different story.

Thanks for the feedback 03. I realise ColdBitcoins.com isn't necessary a brandable sounding domain, but felt compelled to grab it as the singular, ColdBitcoin.com is registered by MillyBitCoin.com, owned by Help.org who recently bought BitCoin.ME fot 10k. Not that they'll buy mine (as they've already had the chance to register it and didn't) but I thought they might know something I don't.

Anyway, if I do get any offers on my BTC domains, I'm going to try ask for Bitcoin payment should that be possible. Well done for getting in early :D

Bitcoin names a bit of a punt!

I got

AUSTRALIANBITCOINS.COM
BITCOINSCLOUD.COM

I am looking for another 8 names for a mini portfolio just as a punt and It's questionable if they ever will realise any decent money. It's a pure and simple gamble.

There is a tremendous amount of mainstream interest especially from Sir Richard Branson of Virgin. Many high profile companies are now accepting bitcoins. You just never know what will transpire.
