Spatial computing is the digitization of activities of machines, people, objects, and the environments in which they take place to enable and optimize actions and interactions.

The term Spatial computing summarizes many complex aspects of technology. As a result, many people hesitate to deal with the concept behind it.

Nevertheless, many applications used on a regular basis are based on spatial computing: From GPS to ride-sharing apps and location tagging on social media to AR apps.

Spatial computing was defined in 2003 by Simon Greenwold, as "human interaction with a machine in which the machine retains and manipulates referents to real objects and spaces

After desktop and mobile computing, the next big tech era will be spatial computing—also known as augmented reality—in which computer graphics are overlaid on the world around the user.

Let's showcase spatial related domains, discuss ,share any news or recent sales . I got this

Just a few. One of them is on "hold" status in Afternic at a solid price. Let's see if the sale goes through.

Many industries will be forced to consider if they'll need to adapt to XR, now that Apple's Vision Pro is coming, especially because Apple has a history of successfully pushing emerging categories into mainstream acceptance. It's very possible that Apple's redundant use of the terms spatial and spatial computing to describe this new category could very well influece a variety of industries to adapt those terms into their branding and marketing strategies, and subsequently their domain strategies.

But all of this It has yet to happen, so be cautious. It's still purely a speculative niche and like many others in the immersive category may end up being a bust, despite there already being sone Spatial sales, both related and not related to XR.

I'm seeing a LOT of very low quality domains showcased here. This is because most of the high quality spatial domains have been regged a long time ago, so people are scraping the bottom for trash.

I would recommend considering purchasing a domain in the aftermarket instead, because now is the ideal time to do so, because after Apple's Vision Pro is released next year, it's almost certain that there will be a buying spree of domainer purchasing and relisting domains for even higher prices than what they're priced at today.

This is the menu in vision pro:

spatial.JPG

As sources say, yesterday roughly 60k - 80k units sold out within 15 minutes.

At a price-tag of min. $3488 (for 256gb), $3688 (for 512gb) & $3888 (for 1 tb).

That's what you can call engagement.

Have had a very decent offer on a Spatial name but it is one of the top keywords in the niche.

Always hard to know whether to cash out during hype periods or hold on until potential fruition hits the mainstream.

I have never liked the term Spatial, I personally dropped SpatialArcade, SpatialSport, SpatialMedical, SpatialShopping, SpatialEntertainment plus many more which I would consider good names in this niche 😩

Being Apple pushing the term Spatial I do feel it will create a buzz and demand for spatial related names but as @Kingslayer mentioned nothing is a guarantee expecially in the long term.

Good luck to all who have names in this niche

So... HERE WE ARE!! IT'S HAPPENING! Thousands of domainer have been anticipating this for a decade now.

"Today marks the beginning of a new era for computing,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “Just as the Mac introduced us to Personal Computing, and iPhone introduced us to Mobile Computing, Apple Vision Pro introduces us to Spatial Computing."

I'm not the biggest fan of the term Spatial, but Apple has spoken.

There were desktop computers before the Mac, but no one remenders them. There were smartphones before the iPhone, but no one remembers them. There were AR and VR headsets before the Vision Pro. But most will likely be long forgotten by the great majority of the world population, but they will remember Apple's Vision Pro, landmark, iPhone-like announcement. Even if it flops (which I doubt will happen given Apple's rate of success)

Make no mistake. This is huge. How will this play out for spatial domains? I predict that they'll be in higher demand the more Apple uses the term, which so far has already been quite a lot. Their promotional materials for Vision Pro and related services are littered with the term "spatial" everywhere, so this is going to be their marketing term, not AR, not XR, not VR, not MR or Immersive, holo, etc.

You may catch Tim Cook mumble the term AR from time to time, and they may use the term to describe a particular feature, but spatial is their techmoligical brand identity, the same way Microsoft used Holo or how FB latched on to the term Metaverse. Spatial Computing is Apple's thing now.

So, good luck with your Spatial names!

But I also see no reason why the Vision Pro announcement wouldn't increase the value of more popular terms like AR, XR and Meta/verse. The industry also affects what the most trending terminologies are, despite Apple's heavy influence. Those three terms are still used heavily and will likely continue despite a rise in usage of the term Spatial

SpatialGoggles.com
Rip I used to own this but dropped it last year along with other names like SpatialSpeaker.com. I didn't realise how much of a good potential domain it was especially with the vision pro now being described as spatial goggles..

Good luck..

Spatial Goggles dot (top extension) has gotten a NICE offer that I am considering. The company behind the offer is pretty "large" lol.

People with this attitude ruin the reputation of this industry. Squatting is not a respectable practice and thinking about going "up against" end users is just missing the whole point entirely. Please go back to the drawing board...
So sorry for thinking we have too many unethical bottom feeders in this industry who never had an original thought their whole life and who think piggybacking off other peoples brands is ok and worth the risk.

This is great - and fascinating for the domain industry in general.

In vision pro, you can simply look at the url bar, and say "apple dot com", and it will automatically take you to the site.

What effect will this function have, on the SOUND of domains - including their extension ?!

Phenomenal stuff coming out.

(Now imagine, others take this feature, build it into desktop PCs / laptops,
and everyone can simply look at the url bar {front-cam captches eye movement} and dictate the domain...)
