Hi,

Not sure when the launch is but Libra is making some serious waves right now.

The Financial Stability Board (FSB), the G20 supervisory body, has issued ten “high-level” recommendations for regulating “global stablecoins”.

Shortly after these recommendations Libra made the following announcement.

‘We have initiated the formal payment system licensing process with FINMA and updated our white paper to reflect key design changes to the Libra payment system.’

Looks like Libra are playing the game.....for now at least.

Here is an article on it.

Here is an article on it.

IMO this is by far the biggest news (not pandemic related) of 2020 so far.

David Marcus recently announced the creation of single currency stablecoins, e.g. ≋USD, ≋EUR, ≋GBP, in addition to Libra Coin (≋LBR).

That’s 2.5 Billion monthly active users who will have access to a USD backed Stablecoin.

Libra is aiming for a live product by the end of the year. They announced a formal application process for a payment license with FINMA and confirmed that the Association has secured funding from its members, allowing Facebook to step back as an ordinary member.

The Crypto community, Central Banks and Governments won’t be able to pretend the elephant in the room isn’t there for much longer.

I have a complete change of heart about this project.

I hope governments ban Libra. FB has too much influence. Poor countries will be taken over by libra... This is a shameless power grab. Zuck is one power hungry guy... He has already proven that he doesn't do what he says... Will lie to congress. Violate his own TOS and international law like a mobster. He's amoral and possibly a smiling psychopath with the most innocent face. No privately owned company should have this much power.

Now he is giving the world the middle finger with multiple libras. If you support this just because you hope to sell a domain for a few bucks, besides the point that you probably won't sell anything, you should stop to think about the bigger picture....

I’m on the fence, but America is heading for Communism fast.

Karl Marx knew the American Spirit was too strong for Communism to work. POVERTY had to break American Spirit first. Then Socialism accepted, then Communism. Fed now taking ownership of our biggest corporations. That’s communism.

Central banking is monetary socialism: it’s literally the 5th measure Marx laid out in his Communist Manifesto!
