You don't have to use Demand Medias new tools to get a good .tv site up and running.
I put this together in half an hour.

It's not sophisticated and it is used primarily to point to the .com site but my interest in this exercise was to see how quickly I could put some kind of .tv site together. It took me half an hour using one line of code pointing to a video stored on Google and a hunt around for some window dressing graphics. The site doesn't have anything other than the movie as its content ... but then again that's its whole purpose - watching the movie.
You could apply a similar approach to developing a much more sophisticated site. Just how good the site is would depend on your ability to select good video content from the Web.
If anyone's developed other sites with non-Demand tools I'd love to see them appear in this thread. That way we can all learn from different ideas and approaches
