With the exponential advancement in artificial intelligence, will .ai become the go to domain extension for AI applications? Quite possibly.

The extension has been around since 1995 and is the ccTLD for Anguilla and it is becoming more and more popular as further advancements are made in the artificial intelligence world. The extension, however, is not cheap to register at $283 for a 2 year minimum registration period so it can get pricy, quick... Especially if you are looking to bulk purchase and hold long term.

That being said, what are your thoughts? Do you own any .ai domains?
Showcase them here! Give a little insight as to why you picked them up and what your plans are.

If you don't have any... here is one that was available this morning: Robotic.ai
"Robotic Artificial Intelligence" <---Love the term. Go nab it!

Here are mine:
Holo.ai
Hologram.ai
Holographic.ai

My favorite is Holographic.ai because it sounds the best when phrased "Holographic Artificial Intelligence".
I plan to hold these beauties for quite some time, and I am very curious to hear about yours!

The market is heating up. Top.ai sold for over $7000 a couple weeks ago on Sedo. Now, leg.ai sold for $9,600. Yes, Leg.ai !

Startups are end users that buy the most domains across the board. When they're funded, startups will pay $10,000 to $90,000 without blinking an eye for the .io, .me, .co, or .tv they want.

IMO, .ai is next to experience those sales. If anyone disagrees, sell me your single tech word .ai domains cheaply. :greedy:

You are smart. The owner of this post---------------ali zan,he had sold his holo.ai for $xxxx,I knew the buyer,who bought top.ai help.ai go.ai wk.ai km.ai xin.ai works.ai os.ai id.ai .....................

and very pity,Ali Zan last year(2016.11) gave me offer only 300 usd to sell his holo.ai to me,but I am not brave that time

New to the field, registered these:

official.ai
single.ai
blogging.ai
emoticon.ai
holla.ai
nap.ai
gadgets.ai

Might try to develop couple of them (gadgets.ai seem to have some use cases)

Likely not try to sell any time soon.

I fear Vince's plans may have been significantly delayed since Anguilla was seriously torn apart by hurricane Irma (and then further by Maria).

I understand some of the reasons why Vince would want to keep the registry "on-island" as this ensures the revenue, jobs etc stay on-island. However, it seems to me there is a window of opportunity here to really push dot-AI ahead and that window will close, and the hurricane issue demonstrates the risks of keeping the critical infrastructure on-island.

If a TLD is going to significantly expand, it needs to be able to offer a robust, consistent & reliable service.

Before long Artificial Intelligence will cease to be a thing - not becuase we don't use it any more, but becuase it is so ubiquitous that we simply cease to refer to it as a thing, like electricity & sanitation.

An off-island registry system, run under British jurisdiction, fully EPP compliant with a signed zone & anycast DNS could give the island the opportunity to really push dot-AI forward while maintaining reasonable control, and I think it would be a shame to miss out on this golden opportunity.

Well that's my 2c worth.
@Registry Services I heard Vince had made plan's to move registry off the island pre-hurricane, this is now set back to the beginning of 2018. I could not have said it better myself the time is now to get the ball further down the field and push the .ai registry ahead, Caribbean islands always have and will always be vulnerable to hurricanes like Irma so that's the risk. Keep us posted with any further developments

I wish I could give you some special "inside" information, but sadly, I don't have an inside channel.

However, for ten years I was CTO at dot-IO, so I have some direct experience of helping island registries switch from a cottage industry style home-cooked registry system to a full EPP based private cloud system located in world-class hosting facilities in London.

If you've been in domains for that time, you will know the benefits IO has seen over that time. So you can understand the frustration I feel, as (from where I sit), it looks to me like AI has the same opportunity, but simply isn't grasping it.

... if anything the potential for AI is better than it was for IO, as there is a much more obvious, and high trending, meaning for AI than there was for IO

I prefer hard facts than inside information, I guess part of it too is Vince maybe doesn't want to release full control one of his babies the .ai registry too easily but he has a plethora of other project's going on, which work's in his favour - I think you are correct he maybe isn't grasping the urgency of the situation as there is a time window in place as AI & Deep learning is moving so fast. Congratulations on the work you did at .io it's been a huge success story

Seems like .AI has transitioned to a new registry back-end in the past three days during which whois has been unavailable.
Now whois is using standard format.
Though it seems like registration date got reset for all domains and every domain has 2017-12-16 as registration date. Maybe it'll be fixed sometime

The highest ones were factory(ai) at $8256) and medi(ai) at $5075. Hydrogen (ai) went for $2975 (presume fusion energy end use plan). Down the list at about $1400 but sonic(ai) is one of the best for branding in my opinion. Teller (ai) is also very nice for FinTech startup. So many fantastic names.

BEF dot ai
The acronym "BEF" can mean:
- Business Efficiency First
- Brilliantly Emerging Future

or can mean simply
- Before

.ai
reg. in over 165 ext.
🤗

Show attachment 252525
165 extensions but it might be tough to find interested buyers with that specific combination. The .ai extension typically suggests an association with AI, which wouldn't be the first thing people think of for street food. It's best to choose a domain name that aligns with the intended meaning and resonates with your target audience.
